I checked Reddit to see how NZers are coping with freshly announced deal between China and Cook Islands.

Good amount wants to punish Cook Islands by cutting aid and stripping them of their citizenship. Some are acknowledging that NZ/US got caught with their pants down.

That NZ Herald article was too much even for Reddit autists, though.

This is a replay of the corporate world in the anglosphere: elite boomer Anglo infighting leads to them promoting their sycophant ethnics into office (last century it was Jews, now it’s Indians) and once in office, these sycophants turn the table on their boomers masters and start flooding the organisation with their own people.

Apparently only whites can sail up your rivers /coasts like the Yangtze or shell HK per Opium war but if you Asiatics do it then by jingo it's an act of savage undeserved aggression-love the Chinese muscular response to Australia annoyances -bodes well for the future,

Well, there is a lot of that going on, but that is not what is on my mind.

What is on my mind, is kind of funny.

The Chinese, they say turn on their fire control radar. That means if someone fires, the PLAN or PLAAF already locked on, and someone is gonna get lit up.

For Australia and New Zealand to retaliate, they would have to come close to the China coast, do a live firing exercise, when the Chinese military is just ready to make an example out of someone.

So is the Australian navy and New Zealand navy coming to play?

I don't think so.

Looking at all the statements given by officials of those two countries, not many mentioning allies or the United States, if at all.

That is all we need to know.

That I find to be very interesting.

In Europe, the United States is abandoning traditional allies.

What about Asia-Pacific?

The Chinese want to find out.

I think we got a tentative answer for now, in which way this is trending.

So what's the latest on getting the old band back together for May in Moscow? Is it happening or not?

The French weekly news magazine Le Point, citing anonymous sources, reported that Trump may attend a parade in the Russian capital to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
US President Donald Trump has denied he will travel to Moscow on 9 May and meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
On Friday, the French weekly news magazine Le Point, citing anonymous sources, reported that Trump may attend a parade in the Russian capital to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a term used in Russia to describe Eastern Front fighting during World War II.
Asked in the White House on Friday if he intended to go, Trump dismissed the media reports.
"No, no I'm not. I'm not," he said.

Many conflicting rumours, but my gut feeling is a no. Too much domestic opposition within the US. A Beijing summit in Sept however ;)

Honestly if/when China succeeds in breaking Europe off US, the F-35s not flying should not be a huge worry. It should not be too hard to "jailbreak" them, if you just hire some good engineers and let them work awhile.

After all Iran did it with F-14s. And that was ages ago, before Iran had access to Russian/Chinese expertise. Some grads from Tehran university in a literal Islamic republic could do it!

Pretty disappointing to see Australians whine about Chinese ships.

I would at least expect them to have some awareness to realize they have been doing this crap for years. They should be able to take it when the shoe is on the other foot.

I think it is more than that.

The PLAN is being ultra provocative, basically saying we are ready for a fight.

The PLAAF already dropping flares as warning to spy planes from that country.

It will not take much for the Chinese military to escalate this even more.

When someone has no chance in a fight, and everyone knows they have no chance in a fight, there is no point in pretending that they do.

Hence the whining. It is like a signal for help or backup.

:D

Imagine this scenario.

The PLAN sinks a Australian boat or Canadian boat, or shoots down a spy plane from either one of those countries. Let's say it happens next month.

Then the United States refuses to attack China in retaliation.

That is game over.

:D
