This right here is an APT reply to @name that keeps raging against China's soft power sucks schtick.
That's still wrong, but better than China's typical ", America discredits China.".

"Mao killed 40-100 gorillion people" is another CIA lie that both of you fell for.

If one wants to properly debunk the the Mao's "genocide" lie they should at least know about the us-led global embargo against China during this famine meant to starve Chinese people to death and overthrow the CPC.

If soft power / psychological warfare is a such a useless joke, why did you fall for it? It's easy to dismiss soft power as a useless trick until you study how deep the problem is and how it can negatively affect people's behavior.

Think about how many people (through no fault of their own) believe and change their behavior due to this lie. Imagine how many scientists contribute research / technology to the "democratic / human rights defending" West instead of "big bad genocidal" China.

One guy who is better at pr changes little for China. China is still bad at pr. Everyone knows it. It does show that improving Chinese PR isn't impossible as many pessimists here believe.

at the Sun Metro Transit Operations Center.

More than 100 firefighters and more than 40 fire units responded, according to El Paso strategic communications director Laura Cruz Acosta.

The fire was later upgraded to a second alarm, which means the fire escalated and more firefighters were needed to battle the blaze.
Seven patients were assessed, and four were taken to area hospitals, according to the fire department. No fatalities were reported.

KFOX14 reported a vehicle exploded, possibly inside the Sun Metro center, igniting the fire.

The roof and walls of the building collapsed in the fire, FOX 4 reported.

As of 7 p.m., the fire was knocked down, and crews were checking for hot spots, according to EPFD. Fire investigators are at the scene.

I hope so. I know there was at least there were attacks during the "Korean" War, SARS 1, covid-19, several attacks against the live stock around 2019 as well.

Am I missing any other biological weapons attacks on China by usa or other nations?
Do you think they took a break between 1950 and 2000?
Do you think the famine was natural?
China never forgives.

Yes U.S is the largest economy in USD nominal sense. In terms of purchasing power, China is about 20-25% greater than U.S.

I wouldnt be surprised that with a China's 2x larger economy by PPP, it still wouldn't be able to surpass America in nominal figures. It is distorted way of viewing things. I don't think there will be a country that can surpass America in nominal figures in lifetime.

You have to understand that nominal GDP is the sum of all combined wages. Because U.S keeps increasing their minimum wages at a quick pace every few years, it is impossible to overtake U.S. For example, if the U.S decided to increase the min wage to 20 bucks/hr in tomorrow, the nominal GDP will 30%.

It is a distorted way of looking at things. But it doesn't mean your purchasing power will increase by 30%.
I had a funny thought experiment: what would the GDP per capita of China be if it had the entire global economy outside the US?

Nominal GDP of the world ex US: $75 trillion
Nominal GDP per capita of China if it had the entire global economy ex-US: 53k.

This leads us to an interesting question:

If China having literally everything - the resources of Russia, Brazil, Australia, etc... the IP and assets of ASML, TSMC, Airbus, Sukhoi, Gazprom, Embraer, Saudi Aramco and more - still cannot match the GDP per capita of the US, then how real is that GDP per capita?

Why r u counting only US and not its firm allies or willing vassals? When u count eu, east asian vassals and five eyes. The total comes to 65 trillion. That's 55 percent of global gdp. Not so easy to decouple now is it?

The truth is western empire is too powerful and china and the global south too weak to resist economically and technologically

this is a GDP per capita question of how real 80k is. If capturing the entire value added of the world by China cannot generate the same GDP per capita of the US, then the question is, how much does the nominal GDP per capita actually matter?

and in the off chance that the US actually does generate real 80k value per person: then how come social and non-GDP economic indicators (production and innovation) don't reflect that?
