What makes me so sure, lol. Because China doesn’t want to start WWIII. Because this war will mostly be fought in Asia, around the first island chain. Because with the exception of nukes and ballistic missiles, China lacks the ability to strike America mainland.

Successful or not is a different convo. But yea I can guarantee destruction of Chinese war industries is part of the Pentagon war games. Chinese industries can rebuild faster than America. There is no victory for America if China can replenish faster.

Perhaps you ought to read this article to freshen and correct your hubris assumptions about power disparity between the two countries.

Sri Lanka secured a USD500 million loan from China yesterday in a desperate bid to shore up its foreign exchange reserves as the local currency hit a record low.
It is the second Chinese loan made in less than three weeks.

Last month, the People’s Bank of China granted a USD1.5 billion currency swap to finance imports from China, a key supplier of manufactured goods to the island which is struggling to pay for imports.
Lots of loans and currency swaps. It seems that Sri Lanka has been hit pretty hard from tourism reduction due to covid

China has largely neutralized America's capacity to launch attack on China's home territory within the chains. the only exception is a handful converted Ohio SSGN due to China's weakness in anti submarine. they have actually war gamed on this. but given China's size and industry scale, it may look like firefighters pissing on fire. it does have symbolic value.

No need to make a fuss about it, IMO. He never says anything about what "the end" means, which is probably deliberate. You can call it strategic ambiguity.

Most people who understand the military balance across the strait agree that as soon as PLA lands on the island, it's basically game over, or the end. In the past, Taiwan's defense minister made the confessions publicly in the Legislative Yuan that Taiwan military could hold at most two weeks in the face of PLA attacks, after being pressured by the members of the Legislative Yuan repeatedly. He was, obviously trying to be optimistic, in order to show confidence to the public in Taiwan.

As I said before, PLA is able to land on Taiwan anywhere between 3-7 days should mainland China decide to invade, from a pure military standpoint.
It is mostly a joke of mine. Besides, I do sincerely hope that those die-hard nuts fight to the end so mainland are free of obligation to keep them alive, saving the effort of post-unification cleansing.

I demand Taiwan "government" make this statement public and official all over the world, so in the event of liberation of Taiwan, PLA has a certification not to take any prisoners of war. Also make clear if the "end" means only soldiers or including all living beings on the island, so PLA knows who is combatant.
Ohhh ... So they have solved their recruitman problem. Would it be too far fetched in thinking of a Tom Clancy scenario where mainlanders have infiltrated the Taiwan military command?
Thats what angers me as well. That the US is presenting itself as a leader on climate change when it has done nothing on combating it.

I would prefer the UN or the EU leading it. But no, because Biden was elected, the rest of the world must soothe his ego and attend his (virtual)meeting when the US is doing nothing on this field. And I am fully expecting the hypocrite Biden to lecture China that "it is not doing enough and it must move the net zero target fron 2060 to 2050"

Pure theatrics. I hope China will "steal show" and criticise the US for its failure on combating climate change
climate change is one big hoax

The anglo/western media provide cover for india's fall into nazism.

On an aside, democracies tend to make societies more susceptible to fascism and nazism since inevitably the narcissistic appeal of "race nationalism" will lead to more votes for racial demagogues.
@hashtagpls now its confirm that Indians destroyed Intel and google your next...LOL. Us Asian like to help our fellow countrymen its in our gene, but it differ from each region and I'm happy that our ancestor had the wisdom to implement meritocracy early on and had become our tradition. I'm confident that the CCP will endure another 100 years with a different form from its present system. That is how dynamic the Chinese political system is, as Xi used his experiences as a way for future cadre to follow, sending a lot of them to the countryside to experience it hands on and how they perform will be the basis of their promotion.

All these gnashing of teeth and assumptions are wasted when reality and history should have already taught you one basic fact that RACE, CULTURE play the most significant part as to why CHINA AND THE WEST or more precisely the West, led by the U.S. can never accept China regardless of proficiency in English or whatever psychological mumbo jumbo you like to assert (absent any conclusive data) that if China’s media only play the same jedi mind trick like the west then all (western led world which is not the majority of the world) these negative views would have been negated.

Ask Japan how's their Plaza accord taste like. Wasn't Japan a DEMOCRACY? And a U.S. vassal state? If the answers to my sarcastic questions are YES then that fact should have already given you some clues. Was the rise of Japan as a technological power helped us Asians in the eyes of the west especially in America, among red blooded Americans? Did their racist joke stopped? The views on overall Japanese and Asians became positive? Perhaps you ought to ask the family of the Chinese American (Vincent Chin) who was killed back at the height of U.S. Japan trade issues, when he was mistaken to be Japanese so those two "misunderstood" Americans beat the man senselessly and for their crimes were sentenced with a harsh penalty of: "At the killers’ trial, the men each received a $3,000 fine and zero prison time."

If your thesis was remotely even correct then the spate of violence against Asian Americans or Asians in in western western wouldn't be this prevalent or even remotely acceptable. After all, studies after studies in America, Canada shows that as an ethnic population our group is seen as one of the top most successful in academics, business, and the top earners in society whites included. But the perception of perpetual foreigner couldn't be dissolved in the eyes and hearts of the Anglo-Saxon people. So spare us the lecture of China must do this or do that nonsensensical b.s. about if only China was good at media trolling or how to frame the narrative then China would be better understood.

Western civilization based on my reading of their history from the Greeks, Roman, British and Western Eurpean history they only respect POWER AND HARD POWER the rest are just pure f..ng window dressing. If you don't believe me just try to visit any of American military forums and read what they say about China. They think it's a joke militarily or how they talk about using nukes casually like popping gum or something. Now compared that to the attitude of many here, myself included, despite my seething anger towards their arrogance I don't talk or would suggest nuking any western countries for shits and giggle or in their words: to teach them a lesson.
You are on the money. Democracy in the west simply means majority rules and winner takes all. Racism is not a concept or imagination. It is a state of mind that lives in some people. For many years, I was fouled that I am a minority and should naturally bound with all other minorities. Reality is cruelly opposite.
Yes ok. Then US retaliates by further targeting Chinese industrial capacity to end China’s ability to supply those attacks against Us bases.

Even under that scenario, the damages will still be limited to the 2nd island chain. Most of the destruction will be around Asia.
LOL. I am surprise there is still someone that naive on this planet. Between two MAD countries, any bullet toward mainland China means annihilation of the opposing party. I guess there are lots of people drinking 19th century junk alcohol.

Agreed and when people reflect on it, they will say the fascist turned-country was never the failure of democracy, but that it was never a democracy to begin with. However, they’ll gladly shit on communist and socialist countries that aren’t doing well at the same time, citing the ‘failure’ of the system while ignoring the sanctions(Cuba, NK etc) that the US and co put on them.
