  • the gang thing the US infrastructure plan is a bit of a joke. Mr Su points out that if a real estate agent president can't get the US to properly build a stretch of wall then Biden has no chance to get them to build some proper roads either

The US don't have to build new roads, just rebuild existing infrastructure.

Overland flights please

You only do that in the end when the other shoe drops.

climate change is one big hoax

Indeed. IMO, it's a geopolitical move, a race to the bottom to damage oil producing competitors such as Russia, Iran and even the US. The added benefit is curbing China's growing economy as others have mentioned.

As for who is really driving this hoax, I suspect it's the Gulf nations. The last thing OPEC want is more oil producing competitors especially Iran. Years ago, there was an undercover documentary that revealed many "green environmental movements" were funded by Gulf nations. OPEC's suppression of oil prices is another angle to keep their competitors out from the oil markets. But the idiot Clown Prince MbS wandered off into the forest, starting his costly war on Yemen which is dragging longer than expected and he is losing badly (i.e. Houthis striking Saudi military installations). :)

Interestingly, everyone is getting a big break from the low oil prices as some economies are rather fragile. The carbon tax idea is an attempt from Western nations trying to create an opportunity for themselves in this manufactured crisis. It's kind of a brilliant move as it forces China to respond with a push into the "green / alternative energy movement" as intended and provide governments another revenue stream. If China fails, Western nations get to curb China's economic growth. But if China succeeds, they benefit by using China as leverage against OPEC or any other oil producers; maybe even to break free from them. I hope China succeeds, especially in alternative energy such as fusion.

China's total goods imports and exports surged 29.2 per cent year on year to 8.47 trillion yuan (US$1.29 trillion) in the first quarter of 2021, official data showed on Tuesday.
Exports jumped 38.7 per cent from a year earlier while imports climbed 19.3 per cent in yuan terms, the General Administration of Customs (GAC) said.
The trade surplus expanded 690.6 percent to reach 759.29 billion yuan.
Now granted, having massive trade surplus is not necessarily a good thing because who the hell wants to hold piles of green toilet paper, but at least it's better than trade deficit.

Not all trade is done using the USD. However, massive trade surplus is a bad thing in the long run.

Someone pull the numbers over the last four years so we can compare fairly as well as see the effect of the pandemic:

2018 first quarter: total foreign trade 6.75 trillion, export 3.54 trillion, import 3.21 trillion, trade surplus 0.33 trillion
2019 first quarter: total foreign trade 7.01 trillion, export 3.77 trillion, import 3.04 trillion, trade surplus 0.73 trillion
2020 first quarter: total foreign trade 6.57 trillion, export 3.22 trillion, import 3.24 trillion, trade surplus 0.09 trillion
2021 first quarter: total foreign trade 8.47 trillion, export 4.61 trillion, import 3.86 trillion, trade surplus 0.75 trillion

  • export growth to 4.61 trillion is enormous growth, had China's export continue to grow at 2018-2019 rate it might still not have reached this number today. Post pandemic the growth is accelerating and more than made up for the slow down in 2020
  • total trade is in fact growing at pretty sustainable rate. trade surplus YoY growth only looks so big due to 2020's number throwing things off, it's actually fairly comparable to 2019 (although you could argue 2019's surplus is too much too, can't be helped since US refuse to cell chips etc)

So I'm working my way through this video. Apparently it dates from 2012. I would like to share some gems from the guy who's arguing for "democracy":

7:28
The biggest challenge of the US is actually not to be afraid of China's rise, but to be afraid of China's unraveling...

26:17
(On democracies) We never question the legitimacy.... We say these are incompetent, ineffective people, but we're not going to say they've stolen power, that they maintain power through violence, through blood, through cheating...

This guy could give Gordon Chang a run for his money!

This strategy is hardly new, Zhang Zhaozhong has talked about it for ages. I guess only now they're starting to see it being implemented in it's full might.

I always find it amusing because this strategy is basically talking Mao's comment of "bury the American imperialists in the boundless ocean of the people's war"/"把美帝埋葬在人民战争的汪洋大海之中" literately.

Wonder what type of weapons do they carry onboard?
