Regarding the mysterious drone sightings that’s caught Americans’ attention… this is another example of the US’s lies coming home to roost. How come the government can’t identify them? Because they can’t. Yeah they can shoot them down with a rifle but that opens the public to danger. The thing is anyone can do that but the US isn’t just anyone. The US is more sophisticated than that and superior in technology so they just can’t be just anyone. The US can’t admit they can’t do everything or that breaks the illusion of the kind of superiority they say they have over others. The simpler the explanation the worse it is. What’s most likely going on is it’s just drone hobbyists having fun where others drone enthusiasts get in and are joining in on the fun. In California there’s a problem of gangs of all forms of types of mostly illegal to drive on the public streets vehicles such as ATVs and dirt bikes taking over streets and freeways blocking traffic for fun. There’s no warning when and where it’s going to happen and they create havoc on the roads because they aren’t following traffic laws. Some are caught and arrested but most are not which is a part of the fun to them and they don’t all know each other. They hear about it and word spreads and they also join in on the fun. It can’t be stopped. The same thing going with these drones. Americans want to believe there’s a conspiracy because they believe the US is so technologically advanced because that’s what they’ve been told that it should easily be stopped. And why are Americans worried over drones? Just look how drones are being used in warfare. The most advanced countries with tanks they say are invincible are being destroyed left and right by simple drones made with commercially available technology. And look at all these drones in the air where Americans feel helpless. Paranoid Americans think all those illegal Chinese crossing the border into the US from Mexico are a secret Chinese invasion force. If they can managed to equip themselves to attack the US with nothing crossing into the US, just imagine what a drone can do.

This is a reply to In4ser’s reply to me. For some reason hitting reply the normal way ain’t working.

I’d rather have China act strong. What’s the point of looking weak especially when you’re not? The Chinese way of thinking is so people don’t pay attention to you. Sorry that doesn’t work for China. China is too big to ignore. The US wants China to look weak for a reason. If China looks strong economically, the less countries are going to go along with the US because that’s the point why the US wants to portray China as weak so they act accordingly against China as it wishes. Why would China help the US make themselves look weak? You want the US to look wrong so everyone sees they aren’t right so no one listens to them. Helping the US look right doesn’t help China.
Perhaps but you must be willing to deal with free riders and sycophants always trying to use you and waiting for you to make a mistake. I'd rather have a small circle of friends that I trust than be popular and host a den of vipers at my home. Popularity has diminishing returns and there's a reason why rich people try to look poor while the poor try to look rich. If you have the wealth and power, you don't need to prove it.

China standing above petty squabbles isn't helping the US look right, especially as the US has done a remarkable job of looking the fool and shooting itself in the foot recently. The world has rapidly changed from what it was 5-10 years and perceptions that used to matter are now less important (i.e. impressions of Europe and Japan). As an ABC growing up in the West, I can sympathize with the feeling of having a bit of an inferiority complex that you need to prove yourself better by doing things better and rubbing into their face that you're superior. However, that world and era are already in past and success in life is more than a mere ego contest. It's often better to take a step back, and appreciate where you are and be reasonable with your expectations and goals especially since China is no longer a young country (its average age is over 40!).

I do think China's wealth and power are assured at least for the near future. Yes, the USA is trying to make China look weak and stop its rise but whether it can is another matter. I believe China's most imminent issue at hand is not whether its rise can be stopped but rather how to manage the USA's decline and fixing it's longer term issue of a impending demographic crisis. Cornered animals are unpredictable and violent, especially when it is a frustrated nuclear superpower with paranoia and delusions of grandeur and the aging demographic seems to lead to the decline of every developed economy it appears in.

One thing that drives me crazy about reporting in China is that reporters never ever comment on how China's huge population can screw with statistics, unless it can paint China is a bad light. And people are so fucking stupid to never question it. Like I don't think they quite understand that all things being equal, bigger numbers= more chances of things occurring. Like a tiny village of 100 people having a single murder a month is horrible, the village has to have something weird going on, like a serial killer or something. A megacity of 1 million people having a single murder every day is pretty normal. It's just a consequence of having more people. Even if China has the same exact living conditions and laws and government structure of Norway or Sweden, they will have still hundreds of times the amount of bad shit happening, because that's how numbers work. This is like basic concepts that even a 5 year old should be able to understand.

Even if China was a utopia, shit will still happen because crazy people exist. Even the commonly agreed upon "best and safest countries" in the world like Norway, Finland, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand etc etc, still have the random mass shooters, serial killesr, mass killers, crazy sadists etc etc. The difference is that China will naturally have hundreds to dozens the times of this people, even with the same conditions. And conditions in China are obliviously not at that level yet. Honestly, it's already insane that mass stabbings and mass murders happen as rare as they do in China, considering their population difference and income difference. Like even states like Norway, New Zealand, Sweden have mass shootings but China should have hundred of more times considering the population difference, a once in a decade event in other countries should be weekly events in China if all else was equal.

This applies to everything else as well of course. Building collapse even in America and Europe, but they will of course collapse more times in China because there's just more buildings in China, and China is pretty poor to began with. The issue is that large population or not, events like this still rise to the headlines and global attention and nobody ever comments on how China's large population can screw with statistics. They all report on China like it's some rich European nation with like 15 million people and treat it with the same standards.
Isn't that just law of truly large numbers?

Been there, done that!

Well, at least Xi can read, unlike many Americans.

LMAO - Din Tai Fung already closed all of its 14 stores in China.

Good to know - Germany is committing national suicide.
lol, how on earth did they fold that quickly. Guess Taiwanese dumplings isn’t really popular over in China, although to be fair, for that one store in any given city, their will be multiple alternatives (while not rated by the Michelin guide, those sore loser bastards) that is almost guaranteed to taste far better for the fraction of the price. Heck any restaurant I have been to in Hang Zhou is literally superior to any thing I could find in HK and that place is already extremely good compared to anywhere down south

Is he trying to woo Xi to his 2nd inauguration? Xi already rejected him once.
Part of Trump's penchant for being predictably unpredictable. Part of me also likes to believe with the amount of influence Elon Musk is exerting over Trump right now, some of it is rubbing off on his views of China and maybe not being conciliatory, but unlike Biden or even his 1st term at least trying to find some middle ground.

Of course, emphasis on I would like to believe.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz lost in a vote of confidence in the Bundestag, the lower house of parliament, on Monday. The move would dissolve Scholz's minority coalition government.

Such a vote has not taken place in Germany for almost two decades.

Rich people want to look poor because there is a price to pay as an individual in a legal society, if you get physical in response to a threat. But there is no such thing as binding international law. A country can't get sued unless it chooses to allow it, principle of sovereign immunity. A country can't go to jail, because it has a military.

The world starts off simple, in an elementary school playground. Bigger fist wins. Then it gets complicated as you increase in scale with rules and regulations. But at the very largest scale, it is simple again. Bigger fist wins. If you can't intimidate your enemies, then it is assumed you simply don't have the capability and they'll test you to see how true that is. And if you don't have the will, that's the same as don't have the capability.

Never seen weakness be respected and Chinese expect a lot of respect for some reason.
