the difference is, there's opposition to r/China such as: r/GenZedong, r/Sino, r/china_IRL (very imperfect), etc.

In every other case, there's opposition too: r/Iran is a shithole but they have r/Iranian, r/Russia got banned just like r/GenZedong, self haters on r/India are countered by r/GeopoliticsIndia, etc. I don't see a single opposition to r/Syria. r/Syrian is the same.

I check on topwar.ru and Russians are indeed pro-Russia, just like in qq.com and guancha.cn comments section, Chinese are indeed pro-China.

I don't see any opposition to the neolib hivemind in Syria.

Even India agrees that the loss of Syria to terrorists is bad. However, what can they do? India is closer to Syria than China is, they have even more ambition in the Middle East too, yet they did nothing either, because they couldn't.
Another thing to take into account is that Syria is a made up country due to western colonialism, like India. Modern Russia and Iran (Persia), has a long history of being a unified state. I wouldn't read too much into what discourse found on western internet about Syria. Those posters don't correlate much with the people living in Syria right now.

I don't even think so much as Syrians hating China. Its more that they just have no knowledge or awareness of whats really going outside in the world. They are guys from the past living in soon to be 2025. This in turn allows them to get used by places like Israel and Turkey.
Okay, shouldn't it be on Assad to fix this then? Don't give me excuses like he's poor, CPC was educating red army soldiers on world history and progress of WW2 and who's on who's side and why are the Allies and Axis fighting even while they were hiding in caves:

Red army soldiers knew enough about state of art of war that even grunts could be heard arguing among themselves weather the future belong to battleship or carriers.

Ba'ath Party was meant to be a socialist party and they even have all the trappings like calling each other comrades and have 5 year plans, but they don't bother to sit down and learn about how socialist reform is supposed to work based on experiences from other socialist parties around the world?

I don't like the term "Human Capital" because people like Richard Hanania use it.

But basically you can give the same weapons/resources to different people and the difference in results will be night and day.

China gave stuff to North Korea and Vietnam. One developed Nukes. The other kicked out the Americans permanently.

And then you have oil rich Saudi Arabia who still haven't dealt with their problem in Yemen. Its going to be their 10th anniversary there soon.

I don't even know if its a Muslim problem. Indonesia had its issues, but they are still holding it together (helps being on a coconut island). Central Asia has a lot of meatheaded idiots but I think they are at least aware what needs to be done (plus they are way more secular).

Some places give more bang for your buck.

Pakistan is a nuclear armed neighbour that can used to play off India. It also plays a role in the BRI. Let's say China finally takes action against Taiwan and India wants to intervene, Pakistan would come in handy to stop India. If China gets Taiwan, the investment will be well worth it.

I personally disagree with the investment in Pakistan given the lack of progress. But the CPC must see something I don't. What they need to do is slap those guys in Pakistanis to take their jobs more seriously especially with that India backed terrorist group.
Apart from the Gwadar Port, most projects are already up and running.

Why are you gauging country public sentiment on all these sub reddits where the primary language of discussion is English? The fact that users are communicating in English pretty much tells you that they're overwhelmingly either alienated diaspora kids taking up an interest in their ancestral country's politics or really well off types who received a Western education, ie. not in anyway representative at all of what the average person in Syria or Iran etc. actually believes.
