I wanted to bring a spotlight on how many people say the western media has been right when they have been wrong just as much if not more times on china specifically. So we shouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt at all. That's how they use media to spin things. Eg. Global campaign to smear chains COVID vaccines

The real question (actually there are two of them pertaining to this topic), and the first question why take these anti-China people seriously?
Their objections basically are frivolous and half the time totally out to lunch.
The topic is the middle income trap and how China intends to break it.
With the Chinese middle class getting smaller because more people are getting richer, according to their arbitrary levels pulled out of who knows where, the obvious conclusion is China is going to step into being a high income nation, as defined by the UN if I remember correctly.
Simple point, a related one, with the Chinese economy growing at 5% or more, reaching high income status for the nation is just a matter of time, which will happen soon.
This is very significant, from an academic point of view. If China can do it, what about other countries?
Forget about the South Koreas and Japan and Taiwan of the world, for geopolitical reasons they had an open market, the largest in the world the USA to sell their products into.
Other developing countries today do not have that luxury of that kind of openness to markets in the West like in the past.
That is China soft power. Optimism for the future, for your own damn country. How to make it succeed, so we do not have to be an Indian and run and emigrate.

Theres also high, lower middle and low income countries stuck in income trap. Consider US, Turkey, Brazil and every single African country pretty much. That's a wide strata of income trapped countries.
