They can trade with it but they have no means to decouple China from it. China is Africa's number 1 trade partner and it continues to outgrow anyone else. If you said that it is in the Arab interest to decouple China from Africa, then it is a demonstration of how powerless Arabs are.
Because it's a road we can use so we use it.
Africa can have any trade partner but since current Arabs dont give a second chance they will only develop it such away where they have control. China road was through Pakistan. not this North South.

The relative economic growth of India have totally warped the mindset of these folks who are in haste to become the alternative to China without addressing its many fundamental weaknesses that plagues the country -- most of which are known to this forum.
So rather than seek or focus on strengthening their economy and biding their time in the sun these numbnuts are advocating for their country's leadership to confront China and treat her as it's mortal enemy. Their strategy is simply to piggy back to the U.S. maintenance of its hegemony in the ASIA-PACIFIC while India become it's regional sheriff and be allowed to carve out its own sphere of influence. Essentially playing the same role it had when it was the colony of the British Empire. What a tragedy.

Except they don't have control. You said they want to decouple China from Africa, but Chinese trade with Africa grows every year and it has been in the top spot for a long time already. Arabs have every one line up for it. to compete against each other. they have tremendous wealth to give subsidies to countries that are more aligned with them. it is this wealth that give the insight of the world to make most correct decision.
