An honest but sobering appraisal on India's much vaunted hype as the next manufacturing hub of the world.

Take this pertinent and persistent example that's far too common in India. So, instead of the government (regardless of party) focus on addressing those important issues raised on this tweet/X the government at all levels pretend that they have arrived at an inflection point of supapowah trajectory. The unfortunate thing is that they have been fooled and continue to be fooled by western firms, governments, and its own large diaspora from the West to continue the path to nowhere.

I don't believe the IMF/WB projection since the actual data provided to them is in my opinion ACTUALLY BOGUS, CORRUPTED, MANIPULATED which is ironic since these are the same traits that's been flung against China's own economic growth/data for decades now from the usual suspects including from the undisputed scammers, India.

I remembered during the first rounds of Trade War 1.0 in 2018, the Jai Hinds were getting so excited about the prospect of supply chains moving from China to India. Then 2020 and Covid happened, and they went into delirium about India replacing China as the factory of the world. When the UK fell behind India in GDP, they proclaim themselves an economic Supapowar. They keep boasting that India is gonna become a global hub for XYZ to this day.

Fast forward to 2024, and India had practically not moved an inch closer towards it's dream of becoming a World Factory. Instead, India had lost major multinational businesses on its soil, and had also slowly de-industrialized. So during all of these times, its safe to say that India had been busy talking instead of doing anything constructive.

The Western elites and China haters continue to look at the wrong places. They had chosen to listen to the politicians, oligarchs, and scammers instead of listening to the common Indians. That is fine for me, because it means that they keep betting on the wrong horse. Unfortunately, Russia is also betting way too much on India. But I think that they are gonna learn their lessons better when they finally feel the burn of getting scammed.

AI and automation is fast approaching practical commercial application. It's only a matter of time before it starts to be employed on a mass scale. India is on course to miss out on yet another opportunity to upgrade its economy. This is the final window before that "demographics dividend" starts to lose its value. Yet India have squandered the last decade on politics, militarism, delusions, casteism, racism, and religious fanatiscm. The nation is sliding back to the Middle Ages while others are working towards the 4th Industrial Revolution. But it looks like the Jai Hinds are gonna keep talking and keep wasting more time.

To be fair, India is not the only nation guilty of squandering golden economic opportunities. But, it is one of the most egregious examples.

You know on Reddit, Im getting all these posts popping up full of Indians asking how do I move to XXX and get a job there. Whats worse is the complete deadpan tone like they think they are just entitled to a job in another country and its supposed to be easy. Also the complete lack of independent action to lurk and research and instead expect others just to answer all their questions. For example

Its so damn annoying when you see all these posts popping up.

The thing is Engineering classes with laboratories and workshops with hands on practice cost actual money to equip and teach. It is much cheaper to do a theoretical course where you only have the lecturer teaching to a lecture hall.
Until India increases the amount of money spent on education this will not change.
Also there is a senes of prissy,fussy,high-caste brahminism of not getting your "hands dirty" so to speak -IIRCmany college/uni programs such as geology has died in india due to lack of interest by high -caste brahmin types for the reasons I've mentioned. They will never progress but is regressing every day.

About 10 years ago, I've met a couple of post graduate students from India who studied in Malaysia with full intentions to find work and emigrate out of India. When they found work in Malaysia or Singapore, they even brought their families along with them. So it looks like after 10 years of Modi and Jai Hind Supapowar, either nothing have changed, or that things have gotten worse.

I find the JH mentality 'relatable' if I imagine that the cultural revolution never ended and persisted to this day

When westerners cope for the reasons they can't produce shit anymore

Lol! The founder, Mr Dyson is extremely protective of his IP. He was quite active at suing manufactures and rivals around the world. He was very distrustful of China, thus making a conscious decision not to setup manufacturing in China. Back in 2011, he was already accusing Chinese STEM students in the UK for spying. So for someone as nasty as Mr Dyson, I don't have too much sympathies for him. Plus he is a Brit, whom I have a particular dislike due to some historical reasons.

Although Chinese firms and people got most of the blame for knock-offs and tech thefts from Dyson, they were far from the only ones doing it. Companies from the US, South Korea, and Germany were just as aggressive at trying to steal his tech. There was a case where Dyson accused a Chinese engineer who worked on electric motors for Dyson of passing sensitive technology to Bosch. So all of this shit is everywhere, not just China.

Luckily for Dyson, his products are quite premium, and are relatively innovative for now. But if he spends too much time and money on lawsuits and IP protection, his competitors and the "Chinese knock-offs" are gonna eventually catch up.
