Unfortunately this is most likely because there isn't a lot of reporting on mainstream press currently about TikTok, it's mostly dominated by the election news cycle and Israel.
If mainstream press begin reporting negatively about TikTok again the amount of support for a ban will grow, and since the ban will occur post-election, I'm not optimistic about TikTok's chances. It's ultimately because US social media and tech companies don't want the competition, they will lobby and pressure as much as possible to see a ban go through.
I actually know someone who works at their head office in Singapore, he says they're not optimistic.
US Commerce Secretary has actually started a 12 month clock for the divestiture. TikTok is challenging the ruling which may delay that process but they are unlikely to win. And if they lose, they can sell to a US consortium for about >50B assuming it does not include certain ByteDance IP or pull out of the US entirely.
They've actually done a pretty thorough analysis looking at past CFIUS cases lol but even they're not really sure of the outcome tbh. The fact that they're not planning any US expansions or partnerships with advertisers is pretty telling.
