I don't think it's untrue to assert that a lot of apartment complexes in China remain uninhabited or unfinished.
It's when people start to say things like "the CCP is building huge apartment complexes and keeping them empty, while tens of millions of Chinese people don't have homes" (have seen this before, I think it might've been some Fox News bit) that it becomes a problem.
I have read before that the Ghost Cities are for real estate investments kept out of existing cities, so that actual real estate in functional cities doesn't get exorbitantly inflated in costs. The opposite example would be what's happening in other parts of the world - unaffordable housing crisis while existing units acquired by investors sit empty (i.e. Billionaire's Row in NYC).

Heard that Kamala obliterated Donald during the first debate. Will it be the ultimate Jai Hind moment in two months?
She held her own better than Biden, wouldn't say she "obliterated" him. Trump was just his usual self, spouting whatever bs was most convenient for him at the time regardless of truth or what he'd previously said.

Edit: Changing my view because our friend Bridge is watching his NSA job go down the toilet:

IMO CPC should move capital from Beijing. Capital is meant to be a defensive administration center. It doesnt need much economy power. Just housing the government worker and feed them is enough. I get Beijing has symbolism, but so does xian. Xian is the perfect compromise between beijing(rich and easy target) and yan'an (extremely defendible)

There is no more eight nation alliance, but naval missiles will hit Beijing far easier than Xi'an. Ballistic missiles will go over many layers of defense to Xian. Not fool proof, but every missile wasted counts.

kinda like Moscow vs St.Petersberg
Xi'an was historically at the front lines though it does make sense today.

Luoyang would be badass too.
Xi'an is too insular. Most Chinese dynasties after Qin moved the capital out of guanzhong basin onto the central plains because it was too disconnected to the rest of the country

Zhengzhou/Luoyang would be a better choice when you consider modern transportation as well. Zhengzhou is basically right in the middle of Chinese transportation routes

The US accusing China of helping Russia militarily so they can truly decouple with China and really mean it this time so that China's economy collapses when they said it already happened when they decoupled the first time. The result would be that China can now directly help Russia militarily in Ukraine when China's indirect help they already said was beating all the West direct help they were giving Ukraine.

Beijing is also very safe through, since after China permanently and stably incorporated Manchuria. An attack on Beijing needs to pass over so many air defenses that it would be nearly impossible. Sure Xian is so well defended that it's functionally on another continent and only hittable with ICBM as far as US would be concerned, but Beijing isn't that much further behind.

It even makes sense from a nuclear defense perspective. If we go with US, we both get annihilated, that is something China has accepted will happen for likely the next 30 years at least. So the capital's position is of no concern in the US scenario. However, China today can almost guaranteed destroy minor nuclear powers like India (or Israel, although there is no scenario Israel would actually try) with 0 or very minor return fire getting through. Against these countries, Beijing is positioned the furthest away possible.
US rely on SLBM. Beijing is on the coast. Big problem.

China not preping for nuclear war is a fucking lie. They have nuclear rated parking lots, ABM expansion, and upping arsenal of silos. If China clearly making contingency plans, moving capital is worth the hassle.

In fact, they are already sort of moving capital via 雄安。
