They’re covering their ass for the government inquiry that is sure to come their way, there was so much corruption and nepotism going on in the selection process that the Australian people are demanding answers, so their strategy is to pass it off as good humour and say, see Raygun is a decent dancer after all!!
I think we know now why China has been aggressive towards India what with the PLA in the disputed borders and lately especially after Jaishankar's comment regarding China:

If I were Republicans, and were to pull all cards for survival, I would collaborate with grassroot movement. Competing with democrates for ruling jewish elite approval dont work.
Go full anti Israel, take the popularism pill. This refill the voter base. Lose the campaign funds as cost.
Fan for a citizen guard to control border by violence. This shuts off democrate's illegal migrants as voter base.
Control state institutions independent from government. For example, police stations. Sort of like a reverse union.
Install party discipline, punish any affiliated politician going against party line. They might leave, but they will be punished. Through public denouncement at minimum, kicked if severe. This give up short term power, but increase growth potential via consistency.
Centralize the party, one party leader, one presidential candidate.
Centralize party media. Yeah fox is pro republican, but better to own that media entirely. It will reduce infighting, the correct candidate will be endorsed.
Concede some foriegn ambitions, focus on domestic enemies.
Ive always said its better to put Iran in BRICS over India. A smaller country that is reliable is always better than a big one that isn't.
Just put India with the west. They will do more damage that way since India is a rather crappy ally all things considered.
When India is an enemy and you don't believe they are acting in good faith, its way easier to deal with them. Its why Jai Hind cannot deal with Pakistan even though they keep saying how stupid they are.

India has overplayed its hand. They think their membership is worth popular core policy, they must be excluded.
IDK if BRICS has mechanism for kick, but lets be real, if core members agree (payment is whole reason they signed up) any rule can be made on spot.
