naval training in china in the past is not very goood due largely to the maoist concept thatfaith in communism can overcome and loyalty can replace techonical training. However in the late 80sthe plan shift more towards it. Right now there are still problmes crew of 112 have to learn english to operate some of the weapons and the crew of the 167 are mostly officers beacuse only they have enough experince.Right now there are no conscripts in the plan they havent been used scince the early 80s
Thanks for that answer Darth. may the "Force" be with you!
No conscripts in the PLAN? All volunteers? Interesting. I learn something new everyday.
Gollevainen, I did not mean to infer that concsripts were a poor choice. I just don't think that two years is long enough to train anyone on high tech equipment. That's all.
When the US armed forces had conscripts(draftees) until January '73 they were all drafted into the Army. When they recieved their notice of selection in the mail. They had a choice. Come in on the day requested for your interview and physical or join the USN, USAF, USMC or Coast Guard. If they did join the Army it was only 2 years of service. But if they joined the other service's that meant 4 years...Or they could luck out and be sent to one of the other services for 2 years when they reported. 1 in 10 draftee was automatically sent to the USMC. ..
Thanks again for kinda sorta answering my question.
