Excuse me Golly, what means WIG?

WIG - Wing In Ground boat or Ekranoplan

A WIG boat is a boat with wings that cruises just above the water surface, it is floating on a cushion of relatively high-pressure air between its wing and the water surface. This cushion is created by the aerodynamic interaction between the wing and the surface, called ground effect. This is where a WIG boat is different from an aircraft, it cannot operate without ground effect, so its operating height is limited relative to its size.

While hovercraft is floating on a cushion of air that is created by a fan that blows in a cavity under its hull. The cavity is bounded by so called skirts, rubber balloons that restrict air leakage and more or less seal the cavity. The air cushion reduces the friction drag of the hovercraft with the water which would make it a very efficient vehicle if is wasn't for the fan that creates the cushion. A WIG craft also sits on a cushion of air, but this cushion is created by aerodynamics rather than by an engine. This means that it only exists when the WIG craft has sufficient forward speed. This is called a dynamic air cushion as opposed to the hovercrafts static air cushion. You can compare this to the relation aircraft-helicopter, the aircrafts wings generate lift because of their forward speed, whereas the helicopters rotor has work continuously for generating lift.

That pretty much matter of who you ask, But Kalashnikoviks are by far the most popular and based on my own experience an extremely realible which is number one priority in real combat enviroment. You can sink it to swamps and it still fires as it did before. Myself have fired the gun when there was a lot of mud ans even entire pinecone inside the gun!!

Some touhgh says that it isen't as accurate as some of the western guns, but thats just being meticulous. Its accurate enough to hit a man's head in 150 meters, and to the torso in 300 meters, anything above those ranges are mented for snipers anyways...

whoa, cease fire their golly,,,,ALL u.s Marines "must" qualify by hitting targets with iron sites on the M-16 at 500 yards. one of the main issues for the continuing battle in Al-Anbar is the Marines sitting about 400 to 500 yards out of urban areas and hitting insurgents at that range. BUUUT on the flip side u.s forces hate the fact that the round just does not have a great deal of knock down power. Many of the Insurgents "Jack" themselves up on various narcotics and are at times that much harder to kill. My favorit is the M-4 a little tricked out as I have fired various AK's and think their inaccurat as hell at more than 100 yards.....cheers ute.
