Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is Missing

Re: Malaysia Airlines Plane is Missing

The input is not sketchy at all, especially the satellite data. Outside of the plane being abducted by U.F.O., the conclusion of the plane ending in the Indian ocean isn't sketchy at all, not 100% maybe, but something that is likely. Unless there is really a conspiracy where all or some countries in the investigation team will have to be in it, but that's another story.

Actually, there are plenty of questions about the satellite data.

Both the flight corridors and the doppler analysis were based only on six satellite pings received after the ACARS was turned off. That data has not been made public. How were the flight corridors plotted? How accurate were the doppler effect calculations? Until both the data and the calculations are made public, we only have the Malaysian government's word that the analyses were done without flaws or mistakes.

Secondly, even if we *assume* that the analyses were accurate and flawless, we are still making the assumption that those 6 pings describe a consistent behavior by the plane. What if the plane was not on auto-pilot, as it seems to be widely believed? What if the plane had been changing altitudes or directions? What if the plane was flying in circles?

That's what I mean by "sketchy".

As I've said before, there are too many irresponsible media outlets out there. In this case, it is outright lying.

MH370 crash: Capt Zaharie's family and friends rubbish Daily Mail report

BY RASHVINJEET S. BEDI AND FARIK ZOLKEPLI

PETALING JAYA: The daughter of MH370's Capt Zaharie Ahmad Shah has said she will not forgive British tabloid the Daily Mail for "making up stories" that implied her father could be responsible for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

In a Facebook posting, Aishah Zaharie said the tabloid should consider making movies since they were so good at making up stories and scripts out of thin air.

"May God have mercy on your souls. You can bet your a** I will not forgive you," she said in her post.

The tabloid quoted a "source close to the pilot's family" saying that the pilot of the missing flight was in emotional turmoil over the break-up of his marriage.

The report on Sunday alleged that Zaharie's wife, Faizah Khanum Mustafa Khan. told investigators that Zaharie had stopped speaking to her in the weeks before the flight on March 8, and spent time alone in his room with his flight simulator.

The British tabloid had also quoted Aishah as saying that she barely recognised the man who used to dote on her.

"He wasn't the father I knew. He seemed disturbed and lost in a world of his own," she is quoted to have said.

Dr Mohammad Ghouse Noor, a close friend of Zaharie said that the tabloid was spreading lies and that their report was slanderous.

Dr Ghouse, moderator of the "Friends of Captain Zaharie MH370" Facebook page said he had spoken to a very close member of Zaharie's family, including Zaharie's son, who has strongly condemned the report.

"It's a total lie, where do they get this story from? That's not true at all. I call upon all of you to rally together in solidarity to strongly condemn this kind of reporting, we must oppose strongly to this kind of nonsense.

"They cannot come out in the open to refute, they are not able to surface ... Could you imagine the nightmare that this irresponsible people are causing them?" he said in a Facebook post.

When contacted, Dr Ghouse said that the photos used in the tabloid were not of Capt Zaharie's family or his wife.

"There isn't a photo of his wife. It's actually Zaharie's niece's family and nothing to do with Faezah," he said.

Meanwhile, Bukit Aman has reminded the media to stop publishing unsubstantiated news, and to respect the feelings of families of passengers on board the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

"We appeal to the media to be sensitive to the plight of the family who is going through a very difficult time. Please have compassion and understand that such news are hurting the family tremendously," said Bukit Aman assistant chief of the Inspector-General of Police secretariat Asst Comm Datin Asmawati Ahmad.

ACP Asmawati reminded the media that they had a social responsibility to steadfastly uphold, which included the effect irresponsible reporting would have.

Not really, it was done by Inmarsat and some consulting groups. Whether that counts as "international" or not is not really the point. People want the data to be publicized so the analysis can be scrutinized.

I can't believe this. It has now been revealed to quite a few countries including China. I don't think the satellite data will be revealed to the public anytime soon, if ever. The investigation team also include U.S. NTSB, the British equivalent of this organisation, Boeing, Roll Royce, Imarsat and authorities in the other countries. If this is not international, then what is?

Where have you read this? I have no heard anything so far about Malaysia handing over the satellite data to China.

This was revealed a while back by the Acting Transport Minister during the daily news conference in Kuala Lumpur in reply to a reporter's question about China's request for the satellite data. The data have also been shared with Australia and possibly the French team (which have experience with the Air France 447 crash) which have come to KL to help with the investigation.

4 x Coast Guard vessals are deployed as well as PLAN warships

Chinese vessel "Haixun 31" sails toward the southern Indian Sea on March 22, 2014. Four Chinese vessels have finished searching for the missing Malaysian jet in the south task area and will move towards the southern Indian Sea. At the moment, "Haixun 01" and "Nanhaijiu 101" arrived at the Southern Indian Sea while "Haixun 31" and "Nanhaijiu 115" turned around and raced to the area. (Xinhua/Zhao Yingquan)

Also there is 2 x IL-76 and 1 x Y-8 aircraft deployed

I believe this is the first official submarine to join the search:

Does anyone know of other submarines that will be joining the search effort?

Interesting and also very good news UK is also in the game

However using submarine sonar is really a very difficult task and listening for pings again is a very hard job we are talking about a vast area and a very small object they will need all the luck to get this to work

Never the less a must do mission
