I tuned into FOX News during this and it was like a different world. It was all about the most dire real world conspiracies possible. The fact is the aircraft missing is the story. If it had crashed and the wreckage found immediately and since only three Americans were onboard, it would've been maybe a 2-3 day story in the US.

I think American SIGNIT satellites picked up on the pings from MH370 and have a more precise fix on the location of the last transmission.



Wasn't the original WSJ article about the satellite pings based on undisclosed US government source? Wasn't that before Inmarsat came out publicly about the pings?

Of course we can't expect the US government to come out publicly with more precise information. That would reveal too much about their SIGNIT capability.

haha, that's true. there are wilder theories on the Chinese internet. one is that terrorists hijacked the plane to crash it into the Chinese national congress which is in session right now. but the US hacked into the plane's computer and diverted to an American base in the Pacific.

I think the US government does know more precisely where the wreckage is based on SIGNIT intercept than it is telling publicly. The US government provided clues on where the search effort should be focused, but doesn't reveal too much about its capability.

I read local news today that Cambodia sends two boats and four Z9 helicopters to help searching for the missing plane in the region between Cambodia and Vietnam border. Two things keeps me wondered; First, Cambodia previously announced that it would not participate in the searching for the plane because the plane went missing outside its territory and airspace. Then, Haven't the searching shifted to Indian ocean? Why Cambodia starts searching in the gulf to Thailand now? I am a Cambodian but I don't understand what my government is doing now.

You're right. I really disliked him and his approach and what he does for most part and a huge part of his views, but if you're careful, you'll realize he's much more complicated than a bigot. he actually knows what he's doing a lot of times, even though a lot of his views aren't what i agree with. occassionally, he provides you that counter-argument to the mass that he deserve the credit for debunking, even though most of his time he surrounds himself with hard-handed tactics that's very hypocritical and disrespectful of others.

the best example is the rumble vs jon stewart. unless it's completely scripted, he demonstrated he's much more than just a handful that i initially thought he would be. he did give jon stewart a little bit of a challenge at times, and even tried to poke at jon stewart's softened attitude towards him at the end. if you have your facts straight, you'd still walk away thinking he didn't entirely lose, if not managed a stalemate.

another time is his handling of his interview with clinton and powell. i disliked how he wasn't showing enough respect for powell, who after all, is a 4-star general. however, he picked his battles, and wasn't as fierce as he would have been towards civic activists. and as for clinton, he didn't even pull off his usual sh!t, which he knows he won't get away by doing that to clinton. so yea that proves the nuthead may be nuts, but he's still really sly and skilled
