Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is Missing

Re: Malaysia Airlines Plane is Missing

Rumours are inevitable among the public. I saw just yesterday a rumour on Wechat that the plane had been found.

The problem is that China, arguably the country with the most at stake in this incident aside from Malaysia itself, feels it has not been given enough information by the Malaysian government. The recent revelations certainly do seem to support that feeling.

I can understand not releasing information to the public during an investigation, but Chinese officials are not the public. They are, or should be, part of the investigation. This is far more likely a case of Malaysia not wanting to reveal the really bad news until they have no choice.

That stupid story was around since day 1. Chinese webs are full of fake stories..like, literally full of it. My dad kept talking about "a F-22 got shot down in China" which apparently he read it off Chinese sites, and hearing that alone is enough to make me cringe and shudder and feel like I just ate a spider leg.

The other one, which ranked up on the top of my list as the most idiotic story of all time, is this one told by a girl I knew. She said half the Chinese people today are becoming infertile because American GMO firms have taken Chinese people genes, studied it, and are intentionally producing GMO crops with genes that's meant to make Chinese infertile and then exporting them to China. Not sure where she got this from, but I suppose it's off some Chinese media, and the level of conspiracy and insanity of this is so big and ridiculous, I feel dumber having listened to it. For her political science degree and all, she probably has ranked to become to most idiotic person I know of all time at the moment. And sorry if I'm assuming these are coming from fake Chinese sites, but I really don't see who else can think of these stories other than Alex Jones and his conspiracy friends, who still would've written something more US-related.

But yea you get my point. People don't use critical thinking, and this goes both ways: both the idiots who wrote them and those who bought the story.

Straits Times]PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Residents of Kuda Huvadhoo in Dhaal Atoll in the Maldives reportedly saw a "low-flying jumbo jet" flying over houses early in the morning of March 8, the same day Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing.

In a report by Maldivian daily Haveeru, residents described the aircraft which flew over Kuda Huvadhoo at around 6:15am as being white, with red stripes across it.

This colour scheme is very similar to the livery used by Malaysia Airlines on its aircraft - including the Boeing 777 used for MH370.

Eyewitnesses who saw the aircraft agreed that it was travelling in a north to south-east heading towards Addu, the southern tip of the Maldives, and all commented on the very loud noise the aircraft made when flying over the island.

Assuming the flight is indeed the jet, then the plane had pretty much flew to the middle of the Indian Ocean. Question now is how much fuel the plane has. It going to the Maldives is one good example of how far it's gone, which should provide also a range and amount of area that the search can realistically expect. Countries should also check their radars for unidentified objects which may had fallen within their radar range for a short moment before disappearing, or even more, objects which entered their EEZ, airspace, and then disappeared or something.

Another question should also be the realistic chances of the pilot altering the flight path multiple times in an attempt to elude authorities, which obviously by this point is what that guy did on purpose for multiple occasions and times. They should subtract the fuel payload carried from the furthest distance the plane seemed to have been reported, then in a radius or arc, to determine what's the farthest the plane with what's remaining can travel "assuming straight path". Afterwards turn that into a radius, and good luck..

Those stories sound like old ghetto conspiracies/rumors/lies etc I use to hear when I was a kid over 50 years ago. Unbelievable rubbish..just out and out lies.

Everyday when I start my computer up I check to see if that MH370 777 has been found. Or for any new news.

Hard for me to believe the story out of Maldives. Why did it take so long to get this "sighting" out in the news? C'mon. It is my personal belief that the aircraft lies on the bottom of the ocean..some where at a location none of us know.

The reported sighting came not that long after the radar thing. It was not as if "MH370" were visible from the ground.

It's the blind leading the blind.

I thought it was confusing who was giving any information that was leading everyone to go in whatever direction. Who's giving out the information about the pings from the engines? When this info first came about, I heard that US airline pilots never heard of the system transmitting pings from the engines.

CNN even brought up the possibility that China shot down the airliner over China and is covering it up. If it was shot down, it wasn't China because it would've had to fly pass US friendly countries to get to China and not try to evade detection and then only to get shot down after all that trouble. Yeah some Chinese agents were onboard, took over the plane, only to get shot down by their own people. If it was shot down it was by a friend of the US and that would explain why things are so confusing because guess who be covering it up?

The most likely scenario is still mechanical failure and it crashed. If some country shot it down, the most likely suspect would be a US friendly country and the US would have to cover it up in order to prevent China from having an excuse... Boeing and the US are sure well hoping it's not mechanical failure because of the negative economic effects. If a US friendly country shot it down, it's to the US's best interest not to have China be given an excuse to retaliate.

Ironic out of all the scenarios people are thinking up including conspiracy theories, the most plausible ones are the ones they're trying to avoid.
