Re: Malaysia Airlines Plane is Missing
That stupid story was around since day 1. Chinese webs are full of fake stories..like, literally full of it. My dad kept talking about "a F-22 got shot down in China" which apparently he read it off Chinese sites, and hearing that alone is enough to make me cringe and shudder and feel like I just ate a spider leg.
The other one, which ranked up on the top of my list as the most idiotic story of all time, is this one told by a girl I knew. She said half the Chinese people today are becoming infertile because American GMO firms have taken Chinese people genes, studied it, and are intentionally producing GMO crops with genes that's meant to make Chinese infertile and then exporting them to China. Not sure where she got this from, but I suppose it's off some Chinese media, and the level of conspiracy and insanity of this is so big and ridiculous, I feel dumber having listened to it. For her political science degree and all, she probably has ranked to become to most idiotic person I know of all time at the moment. And sorry if I'm assuming these are coming from fake Chinese sites, but I really don't see who else can think of these stories other than Alex Jones and his conspiracy friends, who still would've written something more US-related.
But yea you get my point. People don't use critical thinking, and this goes both ways: both the idiots who wrote them and those who bought the story.
Rumours are inevitable among the public. I saw just yesterday a rumour on Wechat that the plane had been found.
The problem is that China, arguably the country with the most at stake in this incident aside from Malaysia itself, feels it has not been given enough information by the Malaysian government. The recent revelations certainly do seem to support that feeling.
I can understand not releasing information to the public during an investigation, but Chinese officials are not the public. They are, or should be, part of the investigation. This is far more likely a case of Malaysia not wanting to reveal the really bad news until they have no choice.
