Yes, I know that the poster is a NAFO cyberarmy ret4rd, but the point which I would like to portray still stands - Military dummies and decoys can still be effective in the wars of today when they are employed correctly.

The key is to let the enemy waste precious ammunition on useless decoys instead of actual military equipment and platforms. From trucks to fighter jets and even buildings - Even advanced ISR systems can be fooled as long as these dummies and decoys are properly fielded on the warzone.

China has a massive inflatable products industry. I mean, they already have these:

So it wouldn't be hard at all for those inflatable product manufacturers to be mobilized for these.

Of course, there is more than just inflatables in the field of military dummy and decoy - But you get my idea.

So it wouldn't be hard at all if those inflatable product manufacturers can be utilized for this purpose.

SO you inflate them with Helium and make them fly to the United State to do a diversion ?

Yes.

In fact, I would like to have inflated J-7s and H-6s floating over to CONUS so that they can waste SAMs on them instead of shooting at the real thing. The only issue is how to make those inflatables float at Mach 0.8.

Wouldn't these things be really detectable via infrared?

Some spicy take here

Personally I think it's not because of practice but simply industrial productions.
America would do well to heed her words then, before contemplating an attack on China which will mean an amphibious and sea assault 10 000 kms away from America itself, a type of battle which they have never successfully experienced.

Whereas China just needs to dig in in a 1000km radius around their country and let Americans walk into the fire.

Record of Afghanistan and Vietnam shows that US is potentially even less experienced than Russia at fighting conflicts against non AFK opponents.
