Indians can say they never wanted F4 to F8 from the beginning but that's not true. India's claims have always been and they never offered a compromise deal whereas China was always after the compromise deal with China's claim to finger 3 being an intentional stretch into what it never really expected just so that Indians see the Chinese compromise deal as being more reasonable. Personally I don't consider China's claims as being reasonable or justified as much as some will disagree. This is the very edge of Tibet but both nations understandably care about their sovereignty claims regardless of how people may feel and think about them.
Modern China maintaining the claim to finger 3/4 is now useful as a means of pressing up against India. Many of India's major population centres and industry areas are very close to these disputed regions. It's as bad as the US getting sovereignty of North Korea and placing military installations there. While I think China's claims here are done more for those strategic concerns than for feeling genuine attachment to the land (ridiculous idea), I can understand why China would want to do this as much as I can understand India wanting to take over Kashmir and create greater separation and distance under which they control.

Actually the more downvotes the better ... this means that the Jai Hind crowd finally understands the truth and is profoundly disturbed/insecure about the alleged heroic performance of their soldiers lmao. Nah. War of perception is Jai Hind's only redemption and they will out-struggle all in that department. Let them carry on with their fake news and wiki page edits. Who cares beyond correcting them a few times. The real world moves on and nature rewards those that do rather than those who dream all day about doing then convince themselves they've done.
Eventually the truth becomes undeniably obvious. Just like their claims of being peaceful sweet freedom loving yoga gurus have become shattered and continues to, truth eventually surfaces. Just like smaller parts e.g. PLA lost 5 or 4 (I forget) and not Indians claims of 40 to 100+ or for example IA was never armed with sticks and stones. They not only had all that but had riot gear when the PLA was still wearing typical push fest uniform. Basically the Indian fake news blamed China for everything they themselves have been doing. Classic example of thief crying thief.
Not only were the Indians the ones who came with gear, they ambushed and killed whenever and wherever they could e.g. the PLA comms officer. I guess they "destroyed" a Mengshi vehicle by whacking it with an iron rod. Good effort from the baboons.

The 1960 Chinese claim is finger 8, and now it has gotten it and pushed the buffer zone to finger 4. This is a bad deal for india but a good deal for China.
Now regarding Galwan, you indians got your a$$ whopped there! China has it and you indians now gave it to China in a hush hush way. Same thing will soon happen in the Despang plains !!

Chinese are the aggressors in this conflict while you indians are the instigator by building roads without talking to them and the Chinese acted first. Last year in April, they secretly dispatched a huge amount of troops from a military exercise and captured Galwan valley which is what caused this conflict.
Why the Chinese want the Galwan valley? Because it is close to the major supply line that supply Depsang plains. Now China has it and it can CUT off indians in Depsang plains !! This is why you indians did not dare to do SH!T after the clashed, you attacked the Chinese and killed 4 unarmed soliders, they counter attack you in the night and slaughtered 30 indians or more of yours while capturing dozens !!
This is what lead to this stand off ! Yet, you still did not have the balls to start a war, because they only place suitable for a large scale conflict is Depsang plains which will be cut off by the Chinese at Galwan valley. This is also the reason why you lost 900 square km of land in Depsang plains without a fight !
Galwan valley is the center piece of this conflict and you are NEVER going to get it back without a major war !!
So stop your BS with your worthless satellite images taken way back in August 2020. The Chinse have now stationed large amount of troops, tanks and guns near by and can CUT you off at any time they want. When that happens, your army at Depsang plains will become DEAT meat !

Can you provide some sources that suggest China's claim was finger 8? If that's the case why would China dispute and claim up to finger 4? The issue would have been settled there and then since India's claims didn't go beyond finger 8 as far as I know.
Chinese leadership actually ought to understand (and I bet they did and do) that this confrontation has totally converted India's political spectrum to become firmly set after equaling the score with China. As much as the Jai Hind internet trolls wish to create false victories, the real danger is an organised Indian offensive with coherently formed strategies. There are sensible and intelligent Indians who are more convinced of this than ever just based on shifting attitudes. Formerly these people would have been far more balanced (yes I know the Jai Hind voices really drown them out).
The CCP better have endgame plans. It serves China well to have India's current losses (near total acceptance of 1959 deal) proceed with low profile and the Jai Hind victory cries do help facilitate this ironically. But Indian leaders do know better and will certainly act accordingly when opportunities arise. China needs to watch this space carefully.
Abandoning China's claims however outrageous one might consider them (in light of more threatening dangers from the US), may not be good for domestic faith in the CCP but this current path does provide just enough leeway to both parties.
