I don't always understand or agree with what the CCP chooses to do, but I always respect and support it because the CCP delivers results no other government in the world can do for their nations.

Personally, when I heard that 4 comrades died in an ambush, my first instinct is to take no prisoners, kill every Indian we can find and catch, and then go hunting for more. Collect a mountain of Indian corpses and show them to the world. Tell them if they want their dead back, they can hire Russians to carry them because we kill any Indian on sight. Advance the line with heavy weaponry and keep every centimeter we capture. Every time they say anything, point to our 4 brothers and say "This isn't over; you have nothing that can balance this."

Butttt... The CCP doesn't seem to agree with me. It appears that they have likely come to some agreement with the Indians that after totally humiliating them, to let them save face and end the conflict so China can focus on actual rival countries. At least that's what it looks like to me. I can only support that and trust that they know what's best like they always do.

For any Chinese person, you may disagree with the CCP, but when you disrespect or go against them, say you know better, then you go against all of China and its interests. Follow the plan, follow the leadership. Teamwork over personal choice.

So basically China pushed into pp14 then withdrew after the clash when the disengagement agreement was reached. And as you said, patrolling ops by both sides have been limited do to the winter. So once again, status quo ante.

But CCP has to do better. Saying every decision they made was great like some folks here displayed doesn't help at all. No complacency allowed.

Why did PLA release the num now? Because the number TASS reported made PLA's position untenable. They have to clarify. If so, why leave people in the dark earlier? To pacify your opponent? Are they that easily pacified?

I've ranted enough.

Everybody has to do better. It's an endless demand. There is no perfect; you don't know what happened behind the scenes and you don't know if your solution is better. These people have way more information than you do when they made their decisions. Sacrificing unity for the hope of your personal definition of better is called lack of discipline and it serves no one's interest other than your enemies. If you want better, then unity is better.

I think that was previously explained. They did not release the numbers to prevent the Indians from being embarrassed and feeling like they must escalate to save face. You don't know if that worked or if it didn't. No reason to criticize it.

Now they can release it because the situation is cooled off and an agreement has been signed for de-escalation.

Certainly seem like it (if at all your claims of China and India being 800 and 500m away are right).
But then again, since you posting satellite OSIT that is 6 months old, we can give due heft to this opinion piece too (updated on July 11,2020)

Clearly, the Chinese now claim that Galwan Valley, which saw bitter fighting in 1962, is now claimed and virtually held by China. Indian troops will be at least 2 km away from this area and will not even send patrols up to PP 14. This is in keeping with the Chinese position which it has explicitly stated several times publicly and on record.

However, I'm now convinced that first mover at PP14 has been India as per posts here. Painting China as the first mover indeed gives the later happenings a convenient hue from an Indian perspective in some senses.

Nope, on the contrary YOU withdrew from pp14 after your attempted incursion, as shown with the 22 May satellite photos. Later supposed incursion by china is after you lost the clash on 15 June.
