The Y junction isn't famous to any Chinese except maybe local military personnel. First time I'm hearing about it. We don't care and unlike Indians, we don't care what the US thinks about it. We care about our ability to take and hold the ROC, SCS, etc... And we know that whatever India wants, we don't give it to them and if they push for it, we inflict casualties on them, advance our troops, and arrest POWs by the dozens. The Indian military has less chance of taking anything from the PLA than Danny Devito in a wheelchair has of stealing the ball from Lebron. Indian sources say you lost 1,000km^2. So either your media is full of incompetent liars or you lost 1,000km^2... or both. After a tweet by Indian Osint today, I checked official US govt LAC in Depsang and found as per them anything east of the famous Y junction of depsang is on Chinese side. Same in Google earth too as well as Apple Maps. None of them have changed Lac Orientation in their maps in atleast 10 years
But even then, India keeps saying LAC in Depsang is 17 km east of Y junction just to maximalize it claims and gullible Pakistanis and Chinese on internet keep believing it just so they can say India lost 1000 sq km.
Here is NASA map which shows LAC is at Y junction and not 17 km east of Y junction as Indian media claims.
