I am not holding out for sanctions yet. Still beyond the horizon.
I know... and all I can say is one can only dream a sweet dream... plus if you look at it in context the ‘protest’ in Russia was already enough for the western powers to start threatening more sanctions... the scale and the damage to the farmers, prior to the whole red fort incident, in India have already gone way beyond the protest in Russia... so it’s not completely out of the question, at least for talk of sanctions... actually applying is a different matter...

Strategically speaking, I think if India is moronic enough to push China into a war, China will pursue a punitive war strategy and effectively bleed the IAF down to the bone while obliterating key Indian defence related factories and munitions dumps.
Or, depends on what the Biden Administration promised Modi should India go full-on against China...just look at Myanmar, 11 day after Biden sworn in, the coup happened...
but the Chinese government must try to balance its interests and not push India to the arms of the West.
India has been deep in the clutches of the West for decades as it is, thus it's a non-issue. China would be better off give India a "full printing" service once and for all.
Yes, after the last few months, the Indian government and military is not stupid enough to really take on the PLA.
Don't be so sure yet, Biden Administration can benefit greatly from another Sino-India War...
I guess 200 indians ain't worth 1 hongkong terrorist's eyeball
And circumstances pointed to "friendly fire" because she was standing at a position with complete defilade from the police, but right in the line of fire of her fellow rioters.

I don't disagree that India is very friendly with the West and antagonistic towards China, but that does not mean they could go even further. To date, India consider itself a non-aligned country with its own foreign policy. This is very different from, for example, Japan. The prime minister of Japan serves at the pleasure of the U.S. There is a Japanese corruption watch dog team which was run by the CIA. It had brought down prime ministers in the past that was too friendly to the Chinese. There are numerous U.S. bases all over Japan. There are currently no U.S. military bases in India. Another telling sign is that the Indians, however desperate for a good airplane, opted to buy a French forth gen plane instead of the F-35. While the F-35 is a much more superior plane, buying it will have a lot of strings attached. India still would rather have an inferior and more expensive plane instead of the strings that come with a better plane. All of that could change if India feels like it lost its fight against China.

The issue is how much support can the Biden administration give to the Indian government for fighting this war. The U.S. can barely take care of itself. It would be one thing to posture as India is already doing, but to pick a real fight with China is suicidal. I still believe the Indian politicians are not that stupid.
