Yes Indian forums and non western media have begun giving this some coverage. Western media nowhere to be seen outside of a very rare few reports bringing light to this.

Huge social unrest happening in India with farmers protesting and students protesting still ongoing after nearly two years of continuous social unrest. If Muslim Indians pile on, Modi's head is going to go.

I'm not a fan of china poking india on this issue, it goes against PRC policy on interference in internal affairs of other countries. Drama teacher trudeau just got a bad reaction from indian media, and now western social justice warriors might want to pile on as well.

A statement of support for the Modi government doesn't cost china anything right now, and also gives a good signal to india that a thaw is entirely possible with china. Or it can always subject itself to endless criticism and influence from the west.

Tbh... I think in this case the standard non-interference policy with generic statements or simply ignoring the situation is probably the best way to go... any statement of support for the Modi government will only be seen as weakness or hypocrisy on the Chinese side after all... hell I can even imagine the headlines... if China must then perhaps something along the lines of ‘India should first focus and stabilise their internal issues, the door for discussion is always open’... it’s best for China not to take sides or jabs on this one, at least officially... for tweets or social media... go ham like the Australian ‘fake photo’

200 million plus farmers and workers striking against Modi. Can anyone verify the numbers? That is one heck of a number - 200 million strikers.

Lol and the India’s still wanna go at China and they thought nothing like this could happen to them like HK. But damn that number is a 100x worse then HK could ever be, I wonder, is India going to be in a good way in the next few years since it is obvious the government doesn’t have a plan

I wouldnt trust the 200 million-250 million piece. Seems like the same fake news about china all the time.

Yeah, Indian media and western media is a load of crap as always. Wake me up when they actually head to New Delhi and actually protest/riot and end up infecting people in large multi-million numbers and end up spreading it to there buddy nations, causing yet another shutdown again which well, screws the India economy yet again which ultimately proves that western democracies ultimately fail when it has the British/American touch. Then I might start caring and believing that there is any truth in journalism I guess.

Neither poking nor support should be done by China in this matter.

Statement of support is definitely not wise, not needed. Should even be prohibitively avoided. The matter rise because of the stupid regulation by modi himself, by sending him statement of support could be taken as supporting his idiotic regulations, internally or externally. This is not yet including his toxic vicious politics towards China and their neighboring countries. Free tibet, free taiwan hongkong, xinjiang etc, banning china's apps, the quad shits etc. Remember? So, not poking should be considered as olive branch.

Best is to ignore the matter completely. No need to poke, also no need to support him in anyway.
