It's because they don't know anything about China and fears rise of China, so any half believable rumours feed into that narrative.

It's funny because they don't actually worry about the areas where China may legitimately be ahead, like railguns, antiship ballistic missiles, etc and brush them off with "well it's made in China, probably won't work after 5 minutes" yet they treat such rumours as if it's 100% true and fearmonger about China having a death ray.

I still reckon Jin deliberately spread that rumour as deception.

That is parking right at the choke point of Malacca Straits. The only possible candidate is Singapore with her Changi Base. But accepting such arrangement will be fatal for China-Singapore relationship. Singapore's pension funds managed by Temasek and GIC are highly invested in several Chinese companies which are otherwise not available from other foreign investment funds. Singapore is also a major player in BRI, being the co-architect of ChongQing Initiative. Her dilemma is to identify a correct timing to switch her de facto military alliance, one wrong step and her future will be gone. Some years back China already confiscated Singapore's terrax in HK en route a return trip after exercise in Taiwan Island, to voice her displeasure at their continued military training.

It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for them.
Like, do these people not understand US government has no money left and need to print more money just to get by?

US technically has $100 Trillion of wealth to depreciate against. We shall see how much Fed can print before it falls apart.
