China is officially declaring that there were no Indian troops killed from the recent clash.

Does this now settle the argument of whether any Indian troops died in the clash?

I think I would still trust the Chinese official announcement, no matter how much propaganda it contains, over any trash spewed out by the Indian govt and their garbage media.

If we go by official reports there weren't even physical scuffles in the recent "clash". Of course there is no casualty.

Looking at some of the posts in media , it's clear an Indian sff trooper died . The causality was supposed to be due to a landline . However the key message from India seems to be the salami tactics should stop . Both India and China sure have differing opinions on what is lac. However , this whole thing started with china moving it's troops forward and occupying the erstwhile disputed not occupied land . It seems India has now done what china had done earlier by moving into the galwan area .

It could be a hint that the SFF guy killed isn't 'Indian', but a 'Tibetan' rebel.

The more important quote from your article is this: “These are precautionary deployments well within the Indian side of the LAC.” In other words, they are just going to sit there and twiddle their thumbs, while the Indian-bollywood media pretends they've actually done something.

Not necessarily. It's India's version of the LAC.

Not really , having sort off sunny day ,which is better than the rains. What you wrote is the Crux of the issue ..china claiming soveringity based on a by gone era. Imagine India trying to stake claim based on the past chandragupta empire . That would include modern Iran , Afghanistan, Pakistan , Bangladesh etc. It would be stupid to think India has dominion on these lands . These are modern countries and the old claims don't hold true.

Every day is modern and yesterday is old. Lands that exchanged hands by force can do so again and by your logic, by tomorrow, yesterday's claims will no longer hold true if you can change the status on the ground today. But this is the real world and the real world is very much dictated by power, for every country. Countries with the power to claim lost lands or those with the power to cling on to ill-gotten lands like the UK (Mauritius vs UK over Chagos Islands) will do so. No country and nobody has the right to lock in the territorial landscape at any select time that favors them as a permanent status.

And this whole thing started when Indian troops attacked Chinese construction workers causing the Chinese retaliation that led to 20 Indian deaths. India now cannot stop because they now feel a constant pressure to even up the score at least to a point where it is not embarrassing for them but the more they play, the more they lose. Just like at a casino, it's time for them to take their losses and go home instead of losing more to try to win it all back.
