So this is the general gist of the latest claim ... from India.

It may appear the PLA is moving in further. No details at all though. Could actually be anything or nothing and hot air from Indian press. I would doubt the CCP has the kind of resolve to actually intrude into India, as in actual India rather than disputed regions. Probably yet another case of differing perceptions of where the lines lie if there is anything happening.

It could be tactic to keep Indians fixed at the border and rely on General Winter to do the deed.

I looked into Indian side rumours on this and it is being shared (huge serving of salt!) that about a dozen IA soldiers killed along with an officer with between 20 to 30 IA captured this time with the confrontation site being south of Pangong Tso lake. No idea on PLA casualties/captured. Indian rumours are already inventing numbers of PLA losses. Looks like this conflict isn't over then. Maybe the CCP is prodding Modi for action. This site however does go up to China's claimed lines, while also obviously WELL within Indian claimed lines which go all the way up to Finger 8 and its immediate south.

Alleged site of confrontation on the map provided by this tweet.

The official Indian statement reads like really bad PR spin BS. Either the PLA crossed a line, or India ‘pre-empted’ them and stopped them crossing. Those are two mutually exclusive eventualities that cannot both be true at the same time.

Furthermore, if the PLA did not cross the line and enter India, then by definition Indian actions to ‘pre-empt’ the PLA from crossing would involve the Indians crossing that line into Chinese territory to stop them.

Typical nonsensical Indian BS trying to play victim and victor at the same time.

Well they always want to have their cake and eat it too. China is simultaneously invading and retreating, it occupies all states of being in the same time. The official Indian government announcement is keeping the situation opaque. The rest are claiming Indians pre-empted an invasion which means there was no invasion or perhaps give them the benefit of the doubt and just assume they mean proactively thwarted PLA moves. CCP is frustratingly quiet all the time about these things.

So far the Indian govt and media did not mention of any deaths or casualties on either side.

The Indians are always the first to announce anything, and international media are already picking up their statements. It does smell like the Galwan all over again. But it also does not sound as serious. However if it is just as bad or worse, a lots of things are definitely going to happen from here on.

The blue circle is where the alleged clash took place, and the red border is Google's demarcation of Aksai Chin. It would be a really stupid move for the Indian army to engage here. China controls the high ground from 2 directions.

Yeah the CCP is always too slow with any breaking announcements. They took forever to acknowledge the HK District elections last year. They were disturbingly quiet during the early days of Covid-19. And were relatively absent when Galwan happened.

On the flip side, their response is usually decisive and justified, albeit slow to come.
