I am simply countering xsizor's assertion that there is a buffer zone excusively on India's side of the lac. Everything I have said is going by his logic, not mine.

Okay I haven't read pages of back and forth bickering about troop positions BECAUSE satellites available to us do not show troop movement or even good enough to really show troops in every case where troops are present. It may show 10% of troop positions but not enough to build a picture and definitely not good enough to build a picture of movement.

It seems stupid to say that China lost control of land when in historic context, China's won 10 steps and now with standoff, pushed in another 2 and at best gave one step back to India while demanding India take a step back itself. That's still a net 2 step forward and historically, 12 steps forward applying this analogy.

This is why there are so many high profile Indians claiming that China has taken so much land (with their estimates and what they consider lost land varying by a lot)... of course this is all in reference to disputed land. Since the entire spat for the entire duration has been over disputed land and not mutually recognised and respected borders.

Frankly I'm surprised China even has a permanent base within this stretch seeing as it's disputed land.
only hot springs is disputed. There is no difference in perception in the gogra sector. Abhijit Iyer clearly marked the difference in perception in his article back in may, the image is even more useful now that we have wome more recent satellite imageryl

You two should seriously STOP bickering over Shukla's words etc. Focus on big pictures and easily verifiable facts. Stop bickering over fucking cells on the leaf of a tree within the forest while missing the forest and the important points.

Yes good nice now we can begin a conversation on the forest.

I have been led to believe that India claims the shaded region bordered by dotted lines shown in map below. Is this NOT the case?

We know India still formally claims F4 to F8 which is the lake part.

What about the norther side within this dispute stretch? The eastern most part is no doubt controlled by China since it has a bloody massive PLA base near the western border. The other side of this border is Gogra Hot Springs sections where standoffs and confrontations have occurred.

If India claims this whole disputed section and WE KNOW that it claims F4 to F8 which is the sourthern part of it around the lake, then India has lost massive land on the northern part because PLA camp is so freaking close to western border.

I'd very much like to. But can you afford to have SDF be overrun by Jai Hind peddling their narrative?

If this website doesn't critically analyze then where else?

I know where you're motivation come from and personally commend you so much for setting the truth straight. Otherwise these Jai Hinds will shift the goal posts to anything north west of New Delhi was Chinese controlled and since India controls it nnow, India won. LOL

these sad morons have to put 100% of their efforts towards soothing their overly inflated sense of might that derives from talking each other up with brochures and talking others down when others have real progress and capability.

Failing to satisfy egos in reality, they need to spin utter offensively untrue Jai Hind BS like China lost land and China retreated when in reality, all this fighting was actually on the edge of disputed lands and many, MANY kilometers beyond what China won after 1962.

If that general sentiment from India and that aggressiveness wasn't the case, there is nothing much stopping the two nations from building decent relations where this sort of disputed land grabbing wouldn't be as necessary. Ironic.

But Jai hinds like tying Kashmiri uncles onto their Indian trucks and driving them around, raping women, and executing grandfathers in front of their grandchildren. They have an inflated sense of mightiness and like bullying the helpless while building up their sense of might using those. Screw BJP India and screw Hindu nationalists. While I understand India's frustrations at having China build up within disputed parts, I'm glad the Hindu nazis are on the receiving end of some aggression. The sooner Indian can get rid of Hindutva attitudes, the sooner the region can work towards an era where fighting over disputed land is no longer as necessary as it currently may be.

So Chinese claim lines don't mean anything? Indian claims are already quite clear..
