I think we should just put this JH-7B stuff behind until we can see some further evidence to the contrary. I'm not saying that XAC is not developing anything new, but let's see that new design first.

i ever heard that israeli pilot trained in dual mission: as a fighter and a bomber/attacker.
that mean every single fighter that operate by Israeli Air Force can perform as fighter bomber, so I hope that China also follow this way, every single fighter that produce and operate in China are fighter bomber: create as multirole fighter and bomber/attacker as second mission, so the next kind of bomber that China need is long-range bomber like Tu-160 or B2.I hope that JH-7 get redesign as multirole fighter and can carry guided bomb and anti-ship missile.

J-11 too expensive, J-10 & FC-1 doesn't have the range & payload as the JH-7A. The JH-7A can already carry guided bomb and anti-ship missile. When was the last time you kept up with PLAAF progress? It sounds like your still at when the JH-7 was first introduced.

J-11 too expensive? why they create it then? even they facing problem regard copyright with Russian?
I know Russian recently abandon Su-33 (too expensive) in favor of MiG-29K, I also read they won't sold MiG-29K to China, so China will create carrier-fighter based on J-11, and latest rumored J-10.
If like you said, China will need to figure out how to navalized JH-7 to fit into the PLAN carrier, the fighter-bomber mission will carried by naval variant of J-11 or J10.

except China will have something in their drawing board will near or same capability with Su-32/34, i have no comment (even Su-32/34 are based to Su-27).
The western even never wonder about fighter-bomber, their fighter have capability for attack surface target, if that not enough let it to real bomber like B-2. Remember US with their F-117? where is it now? now US have idea to create fighter-bomber based on F-22, but it's stealth. Do JH-7A have this capability, remain invisible to enemy radar, can defend it self against enemy fighter, doing her job and RTB without terrorizing by enemy SAM batteries.
I always interested about news about China/Russia defense, from there I assumed that if Taiwan issues, territorial dispute that recently face by China turn into war, China will face sophisticated and state of art weapon that supplied to Chinese opponent or used by interfering western power like US. Can aircraft like JH-7A ready for that kind of situation?
