Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

They are having no problem producing WS-9 domestically. It achieved production certification in 2007, which means they have resolved all the mass production issues and have no problem producing the parts needed. There is no need to get concerned about T/W ratio, since JH-7A's role is basically just acting as a bomb truck. With the current thrust level, PLAAF is more than satisfied with its performance. WS-15 is not an improved WS-9.

Sry, meant to say the WS-12.

I do not know whether was it your command of Chinese is so bad that you do not understand much of what is written in the article, or was it that you have purposely twisted the facts that are pointed out in the article.

Quote from the article you have provided:

"针对外媒称,中国有意与英、法两家发动机制造商合作改进歼轰-7(飞豹)战斗轰炸机的发动机,“飞豹”总设计师、中国工程院院士陈一坚接受大公报记者采访时否认此一说法。他称,“飞豹”发动机的问题中国已经全部解决了。"

This paragraph had specifically denied the fact that China is seeking assistance from the british and the french (see the two word in bold), that mean, deny.

I mean... come on! Stop giving bullshit articles or purposely twisted the meaning of an article.

Right, that sentence says that foreign media claims that China seeks french and brit assistance...which the JH-7's designer DENIED.

Also, I'm pretty sure that they, like I did a few days ago, mistyped WS-15 instead of WS-12.

Another interesting thing about this sentence is the phrase "有意", which means having something in mind. So the sentence is NOT saying that the Chinese "is seeking foreign help", but instead "contemplating the idea of seeking help". So even the foreign media believes that this is something only in the discussion stage.

Some pictures from the 20th regiment of the 7th division of PLANAF. This is a regiment recently converted to JH-7A from Q-5. It is the 5th PLANAF JH-7 regiment and 8th in PLA overall. It is based in Qinhuangdao for the NSF.
