argentina may wanted french radar and western make engine.but my suspect is that China may seeking argentina to purchase chinese make avionic and engine. as a package deal.
Paksitan originally wanted to replace FC-1 with french radar, but finally cave in to chinese demand that Fc-1 uses Chinese make radar.
I wouldn't say Pakistan caved as much as they realised just how good Chinese kit are these days and decided it was better to go with the Chinese radar and avionics.
Wrt to Argentina, well I think the chances of them going for western radars, avonics, engines or weapons is almost nonexistent.
They have not forgotten about how they were screwed over because of their over reliance on western weapons during the Falklands, and only recently because of the need for "guarantee autonomy" over their weapons. If they are unwilling to go with a western maker for something as benign as ejection seats (maybe they are worried about secret hidden codes that might allow an enemy to remotely eject all their pilots?), I really cannot see them opting for western radars, avonics, engines or weapons which are far more susceptible to embargos and/or kill codes.
Overall, the JF17 is an excellent fit for Argentina in pretty much all respects, and I'm sure the YJ82 and CM400AKG that are operational on the JF17 looks pretty damn enticing to Argentina. The possibility of part local production would also be a massive incentive.
