Well that is sooner rather than later which is great news all around!
We seen 12-142 to 12-148 in the PAC facility hanger, which means really that leaves 12-149 and 12-150 which I have no doubt have been built in 2012 or 2013, none of the above has refuelling probes which means that Block II is in the works
I beleive 16-18 units are stationed at Kamra waiting delivery to thier respective Sqaudrons, all Block I
Now I think in 2013 Block II has been under construction, working on AWACS integration, fitting of anti-ship missiles and aerial refuelling and since this news is confirmed from the Air Cheif Marshall I'm guessing this is at the PAC
Which really means as I stated before that Block II is under production otherwise which aircraft would they test the refueling probe on, or it means the Prototypes in China are testing probes but that I doubt
All in all this is another good step towards having a fully operational aircraft which defines the word "multi role" , a single air craft that can do all the required missions of the PAF
Also the variety of weapons for integration is always increasing, more variety means more flexibility and more opinions in wartime
Further down the line a twin seater, more powerful WS13, using more composites to reduce weight allowing more payload will further enhance its capabilitys, in my opinion a single piece canopy would also be beneficial to increase situational awareness but these are things for Block III
However the real advantage is the jobs and work this aircraft is providing for Pakistan, if we ordered a batch of 50 say Mirage 2000 all the money would have gone out of the country to provide jobs for Dassault, this way the money stays at home and we no longer rely on outside people for spares and replacement parts, if we want to replace anything we simpy just build the part or a entire new component
