Sure, i guess those types you mention are more developments/variants of aircraft in service.
And, the JF-17 didn't appear at Dubai 2015. That was the first of the two it was billed at, along with Bahrain, where it didn't appear for some reason.

Thunder was there for static display at dubai i think.

JF17 (blk 2) - F16 (blk 40) MLU

Honestly, I don't know if such comparisons are useful nor helpful.

The F-16 plays in a different class and I think esp. the Block 40 MLUs and Block 50 are still a step ahead of the JF-17 in any configuration.

Avionics-wise that comparison might fit but neither in terms of weapons integrated and capabilities (range/weapons load, ...)

IMO these comparisons are more for kids who like palying Quartets !
