JF-17/FC-1 Fighter Aircraft thread

We keep hearing claims of how capable, flexible, and multirole the JF-17s are, but no publications of actual combat usage and performance against Pakistani militants. Why is that? I mean if you want to claim Thunders are the greatest things since sliced bread, then actual combat footage, showing accurate and effective delivery of different munitions would be more convincing than all the glossy Powerpoints and PR chest thumping combined.

1- We are using F-16 (MLU), Mirage Jets, F-7s, C-130 (fitted with star safire FLIR & other reconnaissance stuff), Burraq & Falco Drones & other aerial assets since the beginning of WOT in our tribal area bordering with Afghanistan, but when in the history PAF has ever published any data giving detail about the their usage or performance.... ??? there is a reason as explain under.

2- When you ask question like this

you should keep in mind we are fighting a war there & not in those areas for a Marketing campaign; war is more about POLITICS, PUBLIC SENTIMENTS, MEDIA & OPTICS, its much bigger then some published figures of some weapon systems.

3- Now addressing to your 'specific query': UAE & France used F-16 blk 60 & Rafale Jets in Libya respectively, F-22 is used in Syria, Saudis are using their F-15 & Euro Fighters in Yemen so my dear do you have sources indicating "publications of actual combat usage and performance against militants" No.... ??

4- If something is not available in public domain it does not mean it does not exist same as the data regarding F-16, Rafale, F-22, exist but not available to every tom dick and harry lke me, like you or like any other member of any on-line defence forum

5- Now I think I should address this part of your post

Thanks for the reply, but there are several important points that weren't answered;
1) Has PAF used JF-17s in combat? Never mind combat data, just confirmation of combat sorties.
2) If so, was it a one time affair, or are Thunders part of regular sortie rotations?
3) What munitions have been used in actual combat, if any? My guess is the militants don't fly high performance aircrafts, so air-to-air missiles are out.
4) The pictures in item 5 look more like test runs, so they don't address my point on actual combat usage.

What's more convincing, shouting to developing countries JF-17 is the answer for affordable 4th generation light fighter with a bunch of spiffy brochures, or showing Thunders were used in actual air-ground combat against militants with good results?

Does anybody know what will be the fourth squadron of Jf-17. Is it Haiders or Ghazis? I have read in the brouchure that will be a sqaudron in the south. These two squadrons are the oldest squadron out there in the south. sepcially Haider's which carries Exocet on Marirages. Given JF-17 has been seen with Cm-400 and C-802A IMHO ,its Haiders. Does anybosy know for sure whats the 4th squadron.

F-16 & Mirages are used most for the bombing campaign, JF-17 was not participating in war as primary aerial systems & the reason for the same were OPERATIONAL as during the period of last three years thunders squadrons are mainly used for testing & evaluation of different sub-systems, training of pilots, other then these wings on all block-1 are modified & strengthen during the same period.

My guess could be as good as yours ..... most probably General purpose & guided bombs are used; no information regarding this is released officially so can't comment further

- PAF don't release any such info

- Nor do I have any source, so I am always open for cross questioning & cross check but what I have said in previous posts are known to keen followers & defence enthusiast by different media reports published in local & international media over the years.
