Lieutenant General
First and foremost I would like to Congratulate all Pakistanis and Chinese on this monumental achievement

Today is indeed a very great day in the history of PAC, what I have been saying for months today has become true

Non retractable refuelling probes and integration with AWACS

We have looked toward to this day for a very very long time and as on the way we have had our fair share of people claiming this project will never fly well all have been proven wrong

Not only has 50 units of Block I be manufactured now production has shifted to Block II

Great work!!

so does this mean #50 is actually the 1st Blk II unit? The refueling probe is pretty obvious.

Few month ago it was reported that all ground tests on aerial refuelling was completed for JF17 Block II, 09-109 looks to be that test bed unit which is a Block I aircraft, OMG feels so good to talk about Block I and Block II!!

Anyhow the tests have been completed and now they are obviously happy with the Block II specification, which means it can enter production, so while the last units of Block I were being finished in parallel Block II tests have been under going

I have been saying for last 6 months (see my post #963) the last unit which is 13-150 rolled off the production line and PAC has been re-tooling for Block II production

So they completed Block I and finished Block II testing while retooling for Block II production

Oh what a day I am sooooo happy!!!

Lieutenant General
And finally I can now complete my post #963 with JF-17 Block I 13-150

That means this year they built 13-143 to 13-150 that's 8 units which I already reported but now I have prove it with a picture

YES, and congrats but to admit had expected a bit more "aerodynamic" solution similar to the J-10 or the French Mirage series ... but not only such a simple "tube out of the fuselage-design" ! :(

Anyway if it works properly ...

Clearly we can see post modification for the refuelling probleand it does look different to the refueling probes fitted to the Mirage

But whatever the difference is irrelevant because they will be compatable with the PAF Midas tankers

The thing to note is that PAF already has two Sqaudrons of Mirage equipped with air to air refueling so our pilots will have no problem using JF-17 Block II they have the years of experience

It was a great move by PAF to get those probes from South Africa origin get the Midas tankers get the training done and ready for JF-17 Block II great planning by the air force

Plus we have two ZDK-03 delivered I bet they are already work on that two building with the Erieye experience

Great development plan for Pakistan and JF-17, now I know that Block II will be capable to launch any of the weapons PAF has wether it be CM-400AKG or SD-10 or C-802 anything

Fantastic achievement!

Deino that is Block I test bed 09-109 for proof of concept for aerial refueling not the actual Block II airframe

The Block II airframe hasn't been showcased yet, we can expect further developments here, but do not expect any radical change in the profile like stealth etc

its a testbed with IFR, not the final thingy, also note the root tilt and height matching that of the cockpit suggests an attempt to keep its rcs in check, fixed IFR does add to frontal RCS anyway, no harm in trying to reduce it though ;)

It also says that the Prime Minister Launched the 51th aircraft by riveting one of the air frames thats 1st of JF-17 Block II which could mean 13-151 or 14-151 however they do the numbering while attending the ceremony of the hand over of the 50th unit Block I

So I don't think we will have to wait that long before they do a big roll out ceremony for Block II like they did with JF-17 Block I 09-111 back in 2009

I hope early next year they do the official rolling out ceremony of Block II we can expect cruise missile and anti-ship misisle capability

no worries, they will take out that rivet and plug in properly later ;)
