I think it is probably a temporary design. They needed to refit an "old" frame where they added the IFR as simple as possible. Here you have a direct connection to the existing main internal fueltanks. Maybe they add a pipe through the fuselage (in block 2) so they can add the same as J10 IFR.

What is strange is:

The PAF Mirages have the Israeli IFR...
The JF17 has the Cheetah IFR...

what happened to the Swedish IRF shown at IDEAS 2006? I know Mirages had south african IFR probes but jf-17+ Israeli probe is news to me as PAF had clear plans to induct swedish probe for a while.

What? This is not true, did you not say a few months ago that JF-17 production has ceased because government shut it down due to financial reasons lets says on track

I suppose they will integrate that in block 2 cause you need to do some piping and create space to retract the probe. But I have no clue but have to agree with Deino. This does not look like normal to me.

Well we can post pictures all day and draw conclusions but it's already been reported in AFM many times that Pakistan used South African origin refueling probes for Mirage Rose upgrade programme

Not only that South Africa cooperation lead to the H2 and H4 stand off weapons too

This Swedish probe is just media talk the JF-17 probe was developed by follow on from Mirage probe with Ukranian and Chinese input

Btw Block II will not have a retractable refueling probe it will be fixed

Anything else is speculation
