I have to learn to see these details. It was called a ps in the first posting, but I only saw the vertical tail plane tip.
Thank you.

It's something that will improve with experience as you look at more and more military photos. :D

Also has to do with what areas you are focused on.
For example, I could never (or care to ) remember all the different car models of the different car manufacturers, but alot of people can distinguish them with ease.

This might be old but I wonder if anyone ever mentions about it. The JF-17 first saw action in anti-terrorist operation. Wonder how it performed.

The first JF-17 squadron was officially inducted into the PAF fighter fleet on 18 February 2010 with a strength of 14 fighters.[88][89] These aircraft first saw service in the anti-terrorist operation in South Waziristan, during which they were evaluated with weaponry of different types.[90] The aircraft then took part in the PAF's High Mark 2010 exercise from 29 April, where they were used by the Blue Force to attack Red Land surface targets with a variety of "highly accurate" air-to-surface weaponry.

You mentioned that it is ill equipped terrorist, so iron bomb and unguided rocket is too much enough. The aircraft can get as close to the targets as it like, coz no meaningful air-defense.

Interesting that the Chinese never approached the French for the SNECMA Atar or its derivatives. After all, they did obtain a license for the Spery Engine from the British.
It would be interesting to see a JF-17 with an Atar engine

They did however got hot and heavy with M88 one time.
