If actually sold to Egypt, it will undo all Israeli effort of press US not sell advanced weapons to its neighbors.
I'm very reserved about selling to Egypt. I don't think they have the GDP or will to form the full air force support structure to make a 5th gen fighter effective. They might send them alone and get them shot down by Israeli F-35s supported by tons of groud rader, drones, AWACs, etc... Also, they're not that politically stable. The last major leadership change was a coup. The chances of another coup happening and those J-35 being transferred to a hostile nation is significant.

Unlikely for Egypt to fight Israel. Those two are on good terms, at least between the ruling class.

And for whatever reason it is being pitched to Egypt. Clearly it is not completely out of question. If there is no intention to sell at all, why pitch it?

It's their intention and they're wiser than I am for sure but I don't know what the political reason is. I only see downsides. If Egypt got into a tussle with Israel, they'd need the full package with constant practice to be effective. If they're on good terms with Israel, it becomes a security risk to put these in Egyptian hands. Just for money? I don't think that's necessary for China. They know more than me but I don't see why they're pitching it to Egypt.
