Is this airframe different from the ones presented at the airshow? I see that the radome doesn't have a different shade of grey.
I'll have to say these are strikingly similar to say the least.

I wouldn't say it's the closest to production configuration. It might just be an airframe testing the WS-19 + full avionics mix.Perhaps this airframe is indeed the closest one to the production configuration if it has the target engines installed. Of course, it is also possible that they chose to test the new airframes with the WS-13/21 so as to minimize the risk of an engine incident.

When WS-19s started flying the hinge-type stabs weren't on any airframes yet IIRC.
The guy that first leaked the existence of the J-35 said it's the case, and he's pretty credible. I'll believe him for now.It would make sense to have a dedicated airframe for testing these subsystems prior to final integration. Nonetheless, all of this hinges (pun unintended) on the assumption that the hinge-type horizontal stabilizers are indeed a design progression rather than a testing point.
Models the AVIC present are not exactly known for their notorious accuracy.Pardon my schizophrenic obsession with DAS, but it's interesting that the J-20S model at the Zhuhai Airshow shows DAS windows whereas neither the J-35A nor J-35 models do. I wonder if this is just an oversight on the model maker or if DAS might actually be omitted on certain variants.
