Is the numbering purely based on your source, and what would be the basis for the sequence? Would be surprising to me if the sequence is really based on the actual production order of the prototypes, because imo the 01 is made later than 02, given the unmodified stabilizer and the worn-off paint on the 02.

Well this is based on what was discussed today (at least in case I got it right) and the idea, that two of the aircraft seem to have the old style horizontal tail configuration, while one of them (#01) seems to differ also in other aspects, so I rate the one we've seen today on Saturday an intermediate one (aka #02), the one we saw on Friday as the newest / most recent one (#03) - some even noted it would represent the production standard and will be sent to the PLAAF for trials after the show - even if it does not have the EODAS installed yet.

The question on why the side EODAS only appeared in 1 of 3 aircrafts is also still unanswered. What do you think is the reason for that?

These may be just not installed yet ...

By the way, after a second and even third and fourth thought, some comparisons of different images and a lot of cut & paste to find suitable ones I would rather say, the engines are the same and so at least at the moment I think they use all the same engines, namely the WS-21!

The first two are the same, the bottom one is different though.

Yes, but I think for today I need some rest ... but yes, the serration seems to be larger!

Between lighting differences and AI filters destroying the original image they could definitively be the same engines.

And that's exactly the point ... we need more images! And I need some sleep.

Has there been any update on the WS-19 since its engineering verification model was mentioned at that power point presentation 2 years ago? I can't imagine the WS-19 being anywhere near ready right now.

in 2022, during 10th China Aerospace propulsion Technology forum chief designer Huang Weina confirmed the Engineering prototype of WS-19 being completed. and talk about about next year material selection stage. means in 2023.

she also confirmed ''Digital design/simulation technologies'' shorten 25 percent development time period of WS-19.

we also have seen the flight tests of WS-19 engines. so basically engine is completed. if everything goes well then we can expect small scale production next year.
