Is there a reason to do front vs. rear opening cockpit?

The hump houses more fuel and avionics. Previous prototypes with the slimmer profile smaller hump probably doesn't have as much electronic equipment and extra fuel storage compared to the LRIP version which I'm calling this as. The J-35 no doubt will look near identical to this/these latest prototypes we've seen for years as opposed to the 31001 and 2 prototypes.

The rear opening of the former prototypes requires a lot of hydraulic actuators and mechanisms take up even more room of an already limited hump space. Them choosing to place the canopy mechanism to the front while still increasing the volume of the hump shows that the space required for electronics and fuel is significant enough to change the configuration of the canopy. No doubt some serious electronics are going into the J-35.

Having played around in PS, it looks more like 3500x to me. The 1 is too close to the ladder and spacing was too far.
