I sort of get the jump from j-teens to j-20 , designation wise.
But for the love of me, I don't understand the jump from j-20 to j-35. Even j-30 would be slightly more logical. (Though still a waste, not using so many numbers in between)
What is next? To have the next new design be j-50? If they're skipping 15 numbers again.
If only politics and bad marketing weren't in charge of something so basic as model designations..
lol bold of you to assume SAC and not the PLAN designates the navy's combat aircraftsnot surprised....SAC is known for anything but creativity
That "trying to keep up" is a childish vanity "dxxx" contest without any substance. What can one gain from a bigger digit? None. "sticking to 4th gen" is why I respect PLA and have much higher faith in what Chinese government and PLA says being truth compared to the other countries, because China does not (or much less) bluff and exaggerate.Didn't the US jump from F-22 to F-35? Or Russia did even more spectacularly from Su-57 all the way to Su-75?
So I suppose the Chinese is merely keeping up with the competition. LOL.
In fact, Russia led with the "5th generation" fighter aircraft designation, the American quickly follows suit in reclassifying its fighter aircraft generations. As of now, the Chinese is still hopeless stuck with the "4th generation" fighter aircraft as their latest generation.
Talk about what's in a name.
I think they are gonna keep going with their own generations and the likes. That "trying to keep up" is a childish vanity "dxxx" contest without any substance. What can one gain from a bigger digit? I just hope PLA and China keep being itself and not become something that I always despise.
Well, F-35C isn't exactly a speed demon.doesn't really matter what it's called. only matters if it can keep up with F35C. if we go by the numbers of FC-31 flyer that was distributed by SAC in past conventions, i think it'll have the advantage on max speed but i'm not sure about the rest.
it won't be named as FC-35 if it is officially navy project.total game changer
FC-35 will add considerable fire power to a carrier air wing
its smaller size will ensure many more units can fit on the carrier with higher sortie rate
cant wait for the 1st launch!
