There is no myth about the delay of the maiden flight, the sample reason is: the weather dont allow the maiden flight.

They were planned to have this first flight at today's afternnoon with all bosses come here, and they sealed the road/airports etc, however they cancelled this due to the heavy fog around CAC this afternoon (the weather is OK as of morning today, but turn heaviliy foggy after ~12:00 and they decided to cancel the maiden flight around 1:30PM).The visual range at CAC, according to eye witness, has reduced to only 600-700 meter in the afternoon.

Now even the guys at CAC dont know when to conduct the maiden flight, but basically they get the order to feel free to chose the time to have this maiden flight, whenever conditions are satisified.Judging by the weather conditions in Chengdu, until Jan 11, the weather will be quite cloudy, but who knows, they may decideded to use their weather army to modify the weather a bit.

Lets hope those silver iodide shells are fired into the sky soon then.

You don't know what's going on except speculation.

Thats right thats what members in this forum do when discussing some "hush hush" military hardware. It can be fun , so lighten up.

BtW Many forum members/ and international commentators are simply speculating because of the out of character handling of the publicity involving the progress of the J-20 by the officials. What they want to make of it, is purely up to them.

You could also look at it in another way. They are simply covering their a......, by not announcing it.
I believe that most members who had a interest in this plane genuinely believed in a impending test flight, infact I don't recall any dissenting opinion let alone yours, as they say its always easier to be smarter after the fact.

If we hear the news about they fire the silver iodide shells tonight or early next morning (China time) we'd know they'll make another shot for it.

We're straying off-topic but...A.Man, where you staying and accessing those websites? I have heard that international hotels have CNN, etc. in the rooms, and no web censoring, but ordinary Chinese do not have those luxuries.

My mothers' house & her complex management team offices, my 7 relatives houses are all have broad bands. Two of my friends have decoded TV dishes----watching "XXXXXXXXX" porn videos from all over the world.

Hey Dieno, does the J-20's wing have conical camber twist on it's outer portion and a wing tip like that on the American Boeing F-15? I also seen leading edge slats as well - wow, what a combination of a lifting surface !!

If you're in the Guangdong area your provider is probably in Hong Kong, which would explain why your internet isn't getting blocked. Short of that, either the firewall enforcement is variable depending on how tightly they need to control information (which happens), or you're somehow being patched through a proxy. Those are my best guesses as to how you're getting blocked sites. (Can you access facebook?)

Read through the first few paragraphs briefly... but found quite a lot of things that I cannot agreed with. More detail reading into this material and I will confirm find more things that are simply not true.

1) The Chinese might have good manufacturing capability. But this is building of a plane and not some MP3 players. This is high-tech equipment that is very expensive and although China is quite rich now, she didn't have unlimited resources. So how does the figure of a few hundreds in a short time span came about? Plus by short, what is the quantitative measure was it - 1 month? 1 year? 5 years? 10 years?

2) What combat experience do the Indians have? What combat experience do the Japanese have? and what combat experience do the Taiwanese have? Also what combat experience do the South Korean have? Note that Indo-Pakistani war is over a long time ago, WWII whereby the Japanese had huge combat experience, are over a long time ago. Korean war was over a long time ago... Chinese civil war are a long time ago. Nowadays, all these mentioned countries had no real combat experience.

Also China's most immediate enemies do not have real aerial combat experience...

3) This is what I call plucking figures out of thin air. Where does the author get all his figures? Although he placed the word approximately but there simply was no references or formula behind these bullshit. Plus (note, I am not putting the Indians down, have nothing against them) but how do the figure of 600 advance 4th generation aircrafts came about? Do they build it themselves or do they have to buy them. And it is not as if China do not have allies of her own too. And why is India's air force smaller but more advance? What indigenous planes to they have now and in great quantity that are actually more advance than the Chinese?

So far China had quite an advance aerial industry, and by 2020 timeframe, I believe they would have solved their problems in building quality turbofan engines for their aircrafts.

Maybe this will clear your doubts...
