Has anyone seen that CCTV program? Does it actually mention the J-20 in so many words?

With the startling transperancy so far, I'm cautiously optimistic that we might get videos of this plane in flight sooner rather than later.

The guys at Chengdu says todahy several main roads in Chengdu are closed, and there are many guards around the roads to CAC's airport. Also, in last night, near CAC the weather army shot hundreds shells to the sky to ensure today is a sunny day.

And most importantly, Air China's 4019 plane (which is the plane for CCP bosses) has arrived at Chengdu CAC's airport today, meanwhile the Airforce's 001 plane (which is the plane for the commander in chief of PLAAF) has arrived at CAC's airport yesterday.

So all suggesting something big will happen today, lets behold the historical moment.

That's cool. I'm glad CAC and the PLAAF are making the maiden flight something special (though some say the first flight may've actually already occured but it isn't the first "display" flight).

If we look back at how far CAC has come... They were still making J-7s a few years ago, and now they're onto this. They have a good reason and a right to be proud and to have the limelight.

They have not mentioned J-20, but they strongly implied there is one stealth fighter there.

And if the maiden flight goes as smooth as expected, then I am sure you will see the CCTV's TV show on this fighter right after the maiden flight.

There are already quite some CCTV workers carrying their camera all-over CAC these days, I am sure they aint there for holidays.

I'm not cautiously optimistic, but just plain optimistic. Given the fact that a "big boss" has arrived at the CAC today I think the rumor of J-20's first flight at 2:30 pm is true. This is a historical moment gents. A momentous occasion for China's air force.

I am purely optimistic for a different reason. China has been eager to show that it is a power that deserves respect in all fronts, and not just economically, and there are probably still some doubts as to what China is capable of in the present. It's probably why they have been rather loose with leaks, to show that it has a strong hand. Furthermore, Hu is going to the White House at the end of this month, and having first flight a month away could be a diplomatically polite way of strengthening Hu's hands in any discussions about regional security during that meet.

@ 70092

Millions Thanks to you for always bringing significant and timely
news update about PLA latest developments to all of us.

Something historical is about to happen when China was using their MARVELOUS
Weather Army to doctor the local weather.

Thanks man and especially the 3rd pic, it gives a pretty good sense as to how big the J-20 is...

I posted that on #2220, and no, they didn't admit anything outright, but the overtone is that they're fanning it, all they need now is the J-20 successful first flight.
