Hey I'll sure try, it seems to still be working on my link. Maybe someone else is dinking with your net, my tech crew has all hit the sack, so it may be tommorow, I don't think BD would do that without yellin at me first, You know, kind of like Gilligan and the Skipper, where the skipper takes Gilligans sailor cap and start slappin him with it, I myself am still a techno-trog, like the caveman who just discovered fire. My link is still active, I think bd just embedded it for me, I will try to send you a link in the am, if no luck I'll try google or metacafe?

I should have realized that I couldn't see it because youtube is walled off... All right, I'll wait for your link.

Thanks Nemo, is that a system test, that comes up as the flight control system is powered up, and if so is there a manual reset, self test feature?

Automated test is initiated by the pilot. Doing it on power up can be dangerous as you can kill people around the plane, and sometimes you don't want to do the the test if you want to get to the air immediately.

Besides automatic test, there may be a maintenance mode that allows test and rigging of individual surfaces. Rigging is setting of neutral and fully extended positions, as the actual position may be mismatched to the sensor.

I don't know what you meant by reset. When the system powers up, the actuators will move *SLOWLY* to neutral position, for reason of safety.

I'll try to pm you, look at the list bd provided above, meta, google does anyone know which one might go through. I stink at this, I have only been texting a year or two. The flight control system on all these birds is active and smart, fly by wire used to just replace analog controls in traditional configurations. Now as illustrated by the downward deflection of the canards while at an extremely high angle of attack with positive pitch input by the control surfaces on the aft of the delta main wing, the tailslide shows just how smart they really are, each stabilator and corresponding ovt nozzle operate independantly in the roll coupling. Nemo has clarified the flight control system test procedure, and nemo I do see the control surfaces slowing returning to their neutral positions I was just mystified by the rapid "flicking" of surfaces as the flight controls go through their test seqence, also thanks to mig29 and others who were able to help me by providing instruction and old research papers

Youtube video of the 2-26 flight embedded for your convenience. There were a couple tight turns and a pretty good roll.
