Well you can't embed video from Chinese sites here.

Correct. These sites listed below are the only site you can embed videos from;

# Hulu
# YouTube
# Vimeo
# Dailymotion
# Metacafe
# Google
# facebook

You can only link them which then a lot of utilities virus/spyware software don't like Chinese sites. I've only experience warnings from pop-up ads from Chinese sites and then webpage ads from everywhere else.

Also correct. This site will also not allow links back to some Chinese sites because of malicious spyware etc.

Today's flight was purportedly way more spectacular than the relatively dull "warm up routine" they had yesterday.

I still wish someone on here could explain all that control flicking right after startup, must be the flight control system self checking and returning to some master reset values. I assume the surfaces are electro/hydraulic or electro/mechanical.

Automated Build-in Test, both for system diagnostics and pre-flight check. It's much faster, easier and more complete than have a pilot actually go through the sequence.

Hopefully this is it, should be Riat, 2010, wifey posted it for me, so it may be Betty Crocker.
Thanks Nemo, is that a system test, that comes up as the flight control system is powered up, and if so is there a manual reset, self test feature? These are some smart birds, there are lots of surfaces, and that pic of the J-20 shows the extreme range of the canard as it stabilizes the aircraft pitch and prevents over pitching and subsequent lose of control, who knows player, maybe we'll see the J-20 at RIAT 2012. Thats what initially astounded me as I had remembered the active Eagle from the Air Force Magazine article, but seeing those canards deflected at that massive angle, knowing that the control surfaces were deflected upward to initiate that high AOA looks bizarre. The canards are preventing overpitching and the subsequent loss of control that would follow.

Hah, RIAT? It would be a massive game changer if we saw a project like J-20 at this stage of development even at zhuhai lol. A demonstration at a foreign event would be ridiculous, even stupid I'd say, for CAC and PLAAF.

Really, I'd love to see that, I would be very suprised if they don't have a flying display of some type this year. I would imagine they are exstatic with the reception the J-20 is receiving, especially those of us who are fan boys on Sino D. They will likely be very carefull with their only bird, unless as player surmised, they may have a couple stashed. Now before you Flanker fans jump on me, yes I have seen the su-37 super manueverability, and yes I am impressed, and before you tell me how much mo betta they are than the Raptor, yes, yes, and yes, but Max has pointed out on airshow buzz that he never "departed the aircraft", nor would he depart the aircraft, if he were allowed to do so, as that would put the aircraft and crowds at some risk. Yes I know the Flanker fellows do depart the aircraft, and yes it is awsome and looks crazy, "IT IS", but as Max pointed out, everything he does in the flying display, has a basis in a tactical use of the aircraft. So if we see the J-20 in a flying display, I would like to point out, it is a prototype, we have definitive proof at present of only one extant, and hopefully, we'll see 2002 or 2003 or 2004 or 5. The fact that the PlAAF appear to be actively marketing their airplane to their fellow citizens and to you and I on Sino Defense, is both interesting, encouraging, and hopefull. To hear the fellows watching the flying display is to hear how excited they are, I can't understand a word their saying, but they sound like all boys at airshows no matter what their age. I would bet they are proud as well they should be, the fact that the J-20 is not only new, but somewhat unique is exciting as well. As siege points out, these are referred to as Combat Manuever Tests, or airshow display for short. Just Joking.

Yeah, I'm just pullin your leg, no one would take a prototype on an overwater flight, and your exactly right, it far to valuable to lose, it would'nt surprise me to see a Chengdu factory flying display, and honestly, we are already seeing that! I think since Pak-Fa flew at MACS 2011, there is likely some desire to display their own fifth gen. In all honesty Bltizo, have we ever seen anyone develop an aircraft of this caliber in public? I jokingly called this the Chengdu flying circus, all we need is VonRichtofen, to come out and do some inverted flat spins. Now pinch yourself and ask yourself this question, why do I know more about the J-20 than I've ever known about any state of the art fighters developement, especially one that stealthy? Ten years ago, this kind of info could have gotten you shot, just joking, this is a wildly succesfull marketing campaign, but we're not sellin airplanes. AAhhhhh Yeesss and, while we've got the wheels turning, let me remind you that we only flew the f117 wobblin goblin at night.

Hopefully this is it, should be Riat, 2010,

It seems that popeye has disabled video. Could you, Brat, PM me the link? I'll see if I could climb over to watch on Youtube... By the way, are video clips downloadable on Youtube?

The thing that's convenient on many Chinese video sites (e.g. tudou, 52, etc.) is that you can download the video files with their proprietory software.

Hey I'll sure try, it seems to still be working on my link. Maybe someone else is dinking with your net, my tech crew has all hit the sack, so it may be tommorow, I don't think BD would do that without yellin at me first, You know, kind of like Gilligan and the Skipper, where the skipper takes Gilligans sailor cap and start slappin him with it, I myself am still a techno-trog, like the caveman who just discovered fire. My link is still active, I think bd just embedded it for me, I will try to send you a link in the am, if no luck I'll try google or metacafe?
