It is a lot more accurate than what Minnie Chan wrote.

Someone from Warzone might be browsing Sino Defence. I don’t recall anyone else quoting the 6 J-20 TVC figure since I linked the original source from CJDBY here. I haven’t seen this gaining traction even in Chinese news, let alone western outlet.
Yeah I do give the war zone that credit at least lol
Read the last three paragraphs. Not even Minnie Chan went full retard enough to claim the J-20B would delete the canards. American publications on the Chinese military are still in the toilet.

I don't think they're suggesting this as a possibility - they're just speculating based on what they think should be done with the plane.

I must admit I'm at least guilty in parts. Jamie Hunter is in regular exchange with me, we know us since my very first report for the Combat Aircraft magazine.

However in the end he went much further from 'rumour is' to present them as facts and even more to such more unlikely theories like the deletion of canards...

Too much speculation presented as fact, indeed. Previous writers at warzone seemed to do a better job of not going down the sensationalist route.

I don't want to get too off topic, but TWZ and the preceding Foxtrot Alpha where Rogoway used to write, unfortunately has a reputation for being rather sensationalist and speculative.
Of course it's still better than most of what's written at the national interest, and they make efforts to do their own research and some of their interviews are quite interesting as well, but speculation is not exactly new to them.

The bottom-line is that the canards are integral part of the whole design, removing it is like putting a rail-gun on an arleigh burke built decades ago.
And that speculation or suggestion is enough to put the author on the same "professional" level as a fanboy.

The canard speculation is idiocy. They are far more likely to delete the tailfins than the canards; the entire point of a canard stealth platform is that you can go 6th gen tailfinless at much lower risk and TVC reliability than with a pure tailfinless design a la Lockheed 6th gen proposals.
