Does anyone have an idea of what this could be? Perhaps it shows a new material being used?High-resolution versions of the images in the post above.
J-20 reaches the age of 12, wearing red underpants somewhere people can see to bring good luck.
Today marks the 6th anniversary of J-20 officially entering service. Some high-resolution images to celebrate the occasion.
Really on 9th March 2017? I thought, the first two J-20s were handed over to PLAAF Dingxin Flight Test & Training Base on 12th December 2016, which is rated "service entry"!

Were those LRIP airframes at Dingxin? Anyway, I suspect the date of service isn't a precise milestone, but more of an administrative classification. It's entirely possible that March 9, 2017 was when J-20s were first handed over to a purely combat unit.
Hmm ... but first combat unit was the 9th AB and according to @huitong "The first two s was rumored to have entered the service with the PLAAF 9th Brigade at Wuhu Airbase on January 13, 2019"
