The 97th who transitioned from J-7 to J-20, according to Ayi. I thought it was discussed a little in this thread as well as rumor about Chongqing.

Dumb question.
As more brigades transition to J-20s, J-16s, J-10s, what happens to the previous jets not old enough to be retired?

In this situation where does the J-11/Su-27s go once the 55th gets their J-20s? Will these old frames get passed to another brigade? I don't presume the J-11s are old enough to be retired right now. That should mean that PLAAF are forming new air brigades for the old frames being taken away from the current air brigades.

Those will probably go to the academy when the time is right. It is a 4++ platform and most maneuverable fighter in PLAAF inventory.
Makes me wonder if PLAAF will ever get a small batch of the Su-57 just to compare its kinematics and avionics with their own stuff.
