This must be the first interception of a fifth generation aircraft by a hostile fifth generation aircraft.
Wow … and now I would like to know under what circumstances this encounter happened.

At the time of the F-35C crash Yankee was implying that it was something that PLAAF did that spooked the pilot, hence why in that thread I made this comment:
F-35 Joint Strike Fighter News, Videos and pics Thread
First the Image isn’t verified yet. Second the USN is looking at recovery options. This literally just happened it’s not like anyone just keeps recovery equipment capable of pulling aircraft out of the sea on hot standby. It takes time to locate, assemble, assess, plan and recover. It took weeks...www.sinodefenceforum.com
Perhaps J-20 was involved.
For all you PLA watch out there, i noticed J-20 does smoke sometime. Do we know that its AL31 or does WS-10 smokes too?
Well *someone* has been flying 'tic-tac' type drones very close to USN warships operating off San Diego and also over the THAAD battery on Guam. I think we're looking for a near-peer competitor of the USA with a strong interest in collecting SPY and THAAD radar signals, and highly advanced drone technology. Any ideas who that could be?This word is in the context of the many other "unprofessional" flying intercepts that have occurred between US aircraft and Chinese aircraft in the past where one or both decide to get a little too close. Or with Russia aircraft performing intercepts that get "too close".
Of course they have a point but they're also flying bombers, sigint, and other aircraft very close to Chinese borders. While not in Chinese airspace, well within sigint range and whenever one goes up to collect data and spy, all nearby platforms need to respond by not acting normally or as they would lol and certainly switching many things off. The Americans know this because they are stronger and so they do the aggression. China at the moment can't exactly do the same to the US because it should not initiate or pick a military confrontation whereas the US sees fit to fly bombers, fighters, and spy planes right next to your border since they are strong. China does it to Taiwan and Taiwan in the past did it to mainland when Taiwan was militarily stronger. Now Taiwan does no such thing because it potentially initiates war when they are on the weaker footing. China Taiwan issue though is one of civil war, the US is doing such things to others out of expressing its hegemonic status.
We've long since conjectured that J-20 has retractable luneberg lens and basically that's confirmed. It is highly dubious that F-35 and J-20 are out there in full stealth mode in the same vicinity and in the vicinity of various sigint and airborne aewc/awacs. We've got confirmation from Chinese side they are flying J-20s around the Pacific and confirmation from the Americans too.

Do you have timestamps for the J-20 part(s)?I think this is where that comment came from. I'd recommend everyone with sometime to listen to it.
Not just on J-20, but a whole bunch of stuff in there.
