Surviving is one thing, but your IR signature becomes a massive problem at high supersonic. If RAM materials can be designed to benefit from the "quenching" effect, high heat from supersonic flights and hot sun would not be a problem.

Ha, that's true. But no stealth fighters can travel M5+... For now.If the missile can catch you.
You don’t need to travel at Mach 5. The missile needs to close distance in order to reach you and has limited propellant. The faster you can dash when the missile is coming the more likely you are to escape. If an IR missile is fired at you that means it already got a lock anyways, so flying faster isn’t going to make you that much more seen.Ha, that's true. But no stealth fighters can travel M5+... Well, I was thinking more of the SR-71 approach where you straight-up outrun the missile, but I guess that works too.You don’t need to travel at Mach 5. AgreeSo true. Russian propaganda on Oreshnik is ridiculous, painting it out to be the world's best, world's first xyz ... throw in "hypersonic".
In reality Oreshnik is just bundled MaRV on IRBM booster. Something many, many countries have had for over a decade (at least in China's case).
I wouldn't guess from the comments alone without inputs from the OP, tbh. OP is just saying the 20A should really make an appearance as it's lunar new year (as in a wishful tone).Maybe I'm misunderstanding this post, but are the guys in the comment section suggesting, the 16th AB at Yinchuan/West is (to become) the first operational J-20A unit?
